June 8, 201114 yr Author Sunderland have just bid for three Man Utd players. Wes Brown and Darren Gibson are thought to be two of them. Spending the Henderson money wisely then... Fergie really does shaft Steve Bruce so much.
June 8, 201114 yr Author Wes Brown and Darren Gibson?! LOL. Sunderland are welcome to them! The other one will deffo be Jonny Evans or John O'Shea. Or maybe Welbeck actually. Steve Bruce is an absolute tool.
June 8, 201114 yr Author Biggest surprise of the day is SPURS were interested in Phil Jones. You can't make this stuff up ha. Harry Redknapp tries his luck with every player! I reckon Modric is nailed on to go to Man Utd.
June 8, 201114 yr Harry Redknapp will try to buy anyone. If Wes Brown could stay fit he'd be a decent signing for Sunderland, as it is he probably just joins a growing list of injury prone defenders there.
June 8, 201114 yr Wes Brown isn't what we need, another crocked defender. He's also getting on a bit, which isn't ideal. Really, if the money's now available I can't see why we wouldn't just go in for Hutton instead, seeing as how his price tag was supposedly the stumbling block in a permament deal being done last summer. Right back is hardly a priority for us either, but meh. O'Shea isn't great but he's at least versatile which could prove useful but is also getting on. And Gibson seems to have split opinions between our fans. The price for Henderson is also now being reported at £16m + N'Gog, which isn't as bad as paying £7m for him I suppose but then 9 goals in 3 years speaks for itself really, he's hardly got a glowing reputation at Liverpool as an impact sub and I can't really see things changing here. All in all, very uninspiring.
June 9, 201114 yr I reckon Gibson is a pretty decent player, it's understandable that he didn't manage to break into the first team at Old Trafford with that kind of midfield. Brown could be ok and O'Shea would be a great signing. I can't believe people are slagging off these transfer rumours, I think it's all very positive. I do agree that Alan Hutton would be a top signing though...but then shouldn't they be getting in a left back in and playing Bardsley on the right where he is supposed to play? Emilio Izaguirre of Celtic would be a class signing if that were the case. I'd rather have had the other £7m than Ngog too.
June 9, 201114 yr Absolutely no chance it will happen. Liverpool will sign Henderson, Downing, Mata and Adam and probably Enrique. Perhaps one or two more. Just depends how many of the $h!te players we can flog. I remember when Steve Morison played in the Conference. Only two seasons ago. Jeez. Yep I doubt it'll happen. He's pretty injury prone too apparently Not sure if we really need Charlie Adam if I'm honest. Where would he even fit into the team with Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Henderson, Shelvey, Spearing etc.. ? I think getting a leftback, centreback and wingers should be the first priority.. & getting rid of the likes of Jovanovic, Cole, Poulsen and Konchesky I'd be more than happy if we bought in Enrique, Mata, Downing and a top quality Centreback as Agger seems to always be injured and we'll need someone as a potential replacement for Carragher According to @pault86 on twitter.. a deal for Connor Wickham to Liverpool is practically done. He'd be a great future prospect and a replacement for NGog Biggest surprise of the day is SPURS were interested in Phil Jones. You can't make this stuff up ha. Harry Redknapp tries his luck with every player! I reckon Modric is nailed on to go to Man Utd. Is there anyone he doesn't say he's interested in? He apparently wanted Suarez too, but the Spurs scouts told him that he wasn't good enough
June 9, 201114 yr Author To be fair to Redknapp. Suarez is very similar to Van Der Vaart, so I see why his team didn't go for Suarez. No doubt he'll be in for Aguero though, who coincidently plays the exact same role as Van Der Vaart :manson: Adam just offers something different to all Liverpool's other central midfielders. There's no-one who can produce a 80 yard pass from the midfield position like Alonso did. I don't think he would be considered 1st choice, just a very useful squad player. Left-back is a priority. We literally have no-one who can play there well at the moment (apart from Glen Johnson, who is not a left back).
June 9, 201114 yr Author No surprises here either but Henderson is now officially a Liverpool player. £16m up front. £3.25m in add-ons. Good deal for Sunderland. Read some stats the other day - only Kevin Davies and Malouda had created more goalscoring oppotunities than Henderson. Interesting.
June 9, 201114 yr Not surprised at all really. He's a very good manager. Eh? he did alright at Swansea but in his time at Wigan he's been nothing more than average, and has really struggled at times. I think i'm right in saying his win percentage at Wigan is only 26% or so? Hardly a very good record, and that was with more or less the same team Steve Bruce had when he finished in the top half with them. His signings haven't exactly set the world alight either. He's young and learning, which is a bonus I suppose but it's a bit of a step up from Wigan (A small club with little to no expectations and a tiny fanbase) to Aston Villa, a much larger club with a proud history and a fanbase that will be expecting them to finish comfortably in the top half and challenge for silverware. They'd be much better off going in for someone like Hughes or Ancelotti, I don't think you can say either are out of Villa's reach.

Wigan are terrible. They have 5/6 good players and that's it. They've lost three of their best players (Palacios, Heskey, Valencia) since Bruce has gone. He's over-achieved massively this season with Wigan. They easily have one of three worst squads of the 10/11 season in the Premier League. He gets them to play football aswell. I think he'll thrive at a bigger club with a bigger budget. All managers have to start somewhere. Ancelotti would never go to Villa. He will end up at Roma. I'm sure he's said as much. Hughes would have been a good appointment, but I guess it's not to be. I don't think Martinez will have been the first choice mind.
June 9, 201114 yr I disagree. I think he did well at Swansea but has been out of his depth in the Premier League. Playing pretty, entertaining football is all fine and well but for all the plaudits Tony Mowbray (At West Brom) and Ian Holloway recieved for their style of play, it still got them relegated. And I stand by what I say about him moving from a small club to a bigger club and the expectations that come with it, time will tell if he'll be able to handle it and make the step up but personally I don't think he will and if he does end up at Villa he'd be one of my favourites to get the sack before Christmas.

A lot of clubs were" We've apparently put in a bid for Clichy from Arsenal Hoping that we don't go all out and spend ridiculous money just to buy British players. Suarez 22m > Carroll 35m anyday Downing, Adam & Wickham will probably be the next 3 signings though Really hoping for Mata too
June 10, 201114 yr I can see Liverpool fans beginning to wind me up this season with their worship of King Kenny. I know Hodgson wasn't great and his signings were poor but would Kenny really be any different if he was working with the same budget? Last season the likes of Poulsen, Merieles, Koncheskey, Jones and Cole but the total spending was pretty similar to what they got for Mascherano. A year down the line how is it possible to afford all of these new players at high cost? Where has the money appeared from? Surely if it's here now it was a year ago, so why not back Hodgson instead of giving him no budget?!
