Here's a look of the history of the song. 2004: Is written solely by Madonna while touring on her Re - Invention tour (originally one of the songs planned for "Hello Suckers"). 2005: The song is premiered on Madonna's Re - Invention Tour documentary "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret". The song is a slow type of rock song. The song is re worked for Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor with Stuart Price. The song has a disco feel. Madonna performs it on the Confessions On A Dance Floor promo tour. 2006: Madonna chooses to perform the song with an electric guitar on the Confessions Tour in the glam punk section, she changes the line "just go to texas isn't that where they golf ?" to "just go to texas and s**k George Bush's d**k. On the final show in Paris of the tour Madonna is joined by Lenny Kravitz he also plays electric guitar and sings a few lines. The original demo is released on the I'm Going To Tell You A Secret cd as a bonus track and is available to download. May 31, 201114 yr Author I LOVE, I love new york live version from the confessions tour the dvd doesn't do the song justice it's awesome. The glee cover isn't too bad one of their better Madonna covers.
June 1, 201114 yr This is really not all that as a song. I like the idea, but her execution is just all wrong. It sticks out like a sore thumb on COADF and don't even get me started on the ''AND YOU CAN SUCK GEORGE BUSH'S DICK'' $h!t she kept doing live.
June 1, 201114 yr I don't think any of them are even remembered today to the extent of her classic's. I mean f Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer, Vogue, Papa Don't Preach, Frozen, Ray Of Light, Music, Material Girl, Holiday are pretty much her classic singles. You could add Hung Up to that, but never any of the other 3. That's not to say I don't love them, Confessions is my favourite album of all time.
June 1, 201114 yr Author I see your point. I think they are more fan favourite's rather than the general public's favourite. How could a 3rd or 4th single now go against classics as you listed the trouble is people would rather stick to the older songs because that's the era that kinda made her. The shame is that her music is just as good now as it was then.
