Posted June 1, 201114 yr http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2011/05/31/timberlake.jpg Of his arguably most famous ex-girlfriend, Britney Spears, Timberlake tells Grigoriadis, “I wish her the best—that goes without saying. We haven’t spoken in 9 or 10 years.” The former child star says that most of his and Spears’s relationship was based on circumstance, but had no chance for the long term. “We were two birds of the same feather—small-town kids, doing the same thing. But then you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn’t make any sense. I won’t speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person,” he says. “I just don’t think we were normal; there was nothing normal about our existence. We spent way too much time being the biggest thing for teenyboppers.” “It was exciting that we were having so much success and we could do whatever we wanted. And I mean that about everybody: Backstreet Boys, ’NSync, Britney, Christina,” Timberlake says of his early years as a pop idol. “At that time, we could literally go, ‘Oh, man, let’s go to Bali,’ and we’d be on a plane to Bali. We were little kids with big toys. You do the math—that’s not going to last.” Some very big toys, indeed, as Timberlake recalls that on the set of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, “Ryan [Gosling] and I used to steal golf carts and go driving in the middle of the park to get milk shakes, and we never got in trouble for it. We thought we were big $h!t.” http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/201...h-benefits.html Edited June 14, 201114 yr by Tyler
June 1, 201114 yr Author I think Justin used her as a career advantage, while Britney was really head over heels for him. With saying that I think they were both young and in very compromising positions like he said. But he really exploited her... I'm sure that didn't help Britney cope at all. In fact it all slowly started to go down hill once they broke up and he publicly trashed her on American radio and used her to sell albums. I think the lowest he went was when he did this: http://i12.tinypic.com/49770c3.jpg I love his music but he is still an immature ass hole IMO.
June 1, 201114 yr I never hear Justin say positive things about Britney (when he's not being totally vague that is.) I like his music but the guy seems like a dick. Tis interesting to see how differently the two of them have ended up though, considering he says here that they started out with a very similar outlook. They're in very different places these days.
June 14, 201114 yr Author Justin defends Britney in Playboy Mag interview PLAYBOY: The public is not very kind to the aging pop star. Have you seen the dance-off video going around the internet between Old Britney and New Britney? It shows performances from her early days intercut with performances now. It’s not pretty. TIMBERLAKE: The internet is a cruel place. What a f***ed-up thing to do. PLAYBOY: She’s had a pretty rough time the past few years. TIMBERLAKE: I don’t have too much to say about her situation. I can’t remember the last conversation I had with her. But this thing that happens online bothers me—these anonymous commenters. People think they can say anything and it doesn’t matter to people. I’d love to see the people who comment about Britney online say those things to her face, because they couldn’t. Also, in Britney’s defense, if you pulled up a video I did from 2003, I couldn’t do the $h!t I did then either. http://beta.playboy.com/magazine/pla...n-timberlake/2
