Unfortunately, I don't see Laura Robson ever coming to much. She has a great serve and forehand, but her movement is ATROCIOUS - Sharapova is one of the slowest of the top players herself, but even her court coverage yesterday was much better than Robson's. Also, she's very mentally fragile, and copes badly with pressure - it's easy for her to come out give a good account of herself in a match where she's playing a former world #1 which no-one expects her to win, but when she expects to win she does badly - for instance, she got thrashed by the world #80 just a fortnight ago. Realistically, at the age of 17, the future top 10 players would've made bigger strides up the rankings than Robson has so far.

Completely agree that Robson needs to be able to, you know, actually move from one side of the court to the other!

Watched her match in the first round and so many points she was just left standing, clearly unable to read where the point was going.

The Sharapova match was a bit of a non-event in the end.

So far Serena is destroying Kirilenko and looking pretty sharp. Bartoli won in three sets against Pennetta (57 64 97). Ivanovic has just gone out to Cetskovska (62 76).

I only caught the last set of that Djokovic vs Baghdatis game but wow it contained some amazing tennis! I was really rooting for Baghdatis to take the set just so we could go to a fifth but alas. He still managed to take it to break point enough times for Djokovic's last service game to last almost fifteen minutes!

Not a good day for the Williams sisters!

Definitely not, while i expected Venus to struggle i thought both would win. Wozniacki out today as well. Hoping Nadal loses out to Del Potro today as well.

‎"If Andy Murray is crowned Wimbledon champion it will be an incredible day for tennis tinged only with the sadness that Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all dropped dead in the same tournament" - Jimmy Carr, 2011.

Despite all the hype about him, he has got an incredible chance. Onviously the big test will be in the semis, and then the final, but the way he played against Gasquet today was immense.
Shocked to see both Williams sisters out but I absolutely love Bartoli. She's so intense, she's hilarious to watch  I'm sure she never used to get quite so into it when she was just another mid-table player in the rankings who looked to be going nowhere three or four years back. It's impressive how these former mid-tablers have suddenly flown up the rankings years into their career - Bartoli, Li, Schiavone etc...
It's good to see Lisicki finding some form again!

I'm gonna make a bold prediction right now, the ladies final will be between:

5 Maria Sharapova and 8 Petra Kvitova

;) You heard it here first

[huge potential to look stupid with these guesses :kink:]

Oooh going well so far :w00t: I think they should both sail to wins tomorrow too, I'm thinking that Azarenka is a huge threat for the title too! And Bartoli's having an amazing summer so far.

I'm less sure on my Men's final prediction of Nadal and Djokovic, but we'll wait and see I guess :P.

Williams sisters both out :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I'll probably watch the final now they're out

The second set of Lisicki - Bartoli was brilliant, possibly the best set I've seen so far. It had everything, 2 service breaks (one by each player) which were immediately countered, some superb shots (particularly the drop shots and lobs from Lisicki), embarrassing errors, and Lisicki completely bottling it at the end.
Nice to see that Lisicki put losing 3 match points to the back of her mind and stormed through the 3rd set - becoming the first semi-finalist this year. Definitely falling in love
Cant wait to see all the guys play tomorrow  Supporting Nadal and Tomic

She is rather nice isn't she? I liked her interview afterwards.

I'd love her to get to the final and win but against Sharapova who's just won 6-1 6-1 in a QF she's got a monumental task ahead of her to win.

Kvitova won the first set 6-3 in the delayed two from Court 1. If Sharapova and Azarenka make the final I shall definitely not watch. Whilst watching tennis I enjoy the commentary, the crowd and the sound of the ball, I most certainly don't want to hear up to three hours of cats screeching!

Looking forward to the mens tomorrow. A shame my two favourites (Federer & Tsonga) are playing each other.

I agree with Rabbit, the screeching of those 2 banshees is ridiculous and they should both be banned from playing
Sharapova is going to walk this, isn't she?

I hope not :( I dont like her very much

Delighted for Lisicki - but I'd've loved to see Bartoli win to, she's had an incredible summer - and making it to the SF at the French, winning Eastbourne and making the QF at Wimbledon - however, I believe that Sharapova will be a bridge too far.

Sharapova was imperious today, I'd love to see her win her fourth slam - although this contest is by no means over - she only won her Rome Title thanks to Azarenka retiring in the Quarters whilst leading - she's a huge threat, Kvitova has great mental strength, her serve is such a weapon too - and lefties tend to do well on grass (wish the same could be said for myself :kink:).

I was rooting for Kvitova in the 3rd quarter, but I'm glad Pironkova put up a fight, I just can't fathom why she never performs elsewhere .

Hoping Azarenka will progress from the fourth quarter, that'll certainly make for a tantilising semi final line up - I think three women are still in contention for this title, but if Sharapova's serve holds up - she's the favourite.

Lisicki is my new favourite player just because of her reaction to the thunder. HILARIOUS!
