So I've heard a lot of good things about this movie, but have only got round to seeing it the other day, and it was one of the best films I've ever watched, animated or otherwise. It's beautiful, dark, uplifting, funny, sad, creative and I love the film's use of music. Even knowing the rave reviews it blindsided me, and it's steadily growing a cult status since it was released last year, and it is about to crawl into the IMDB's Top 200. I urge everyone to see it, just such a wonderful, wonderful film.

Synposis: A tale of friendship between two unlikely pen pals: Mary, a lonely, eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max, a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York who suffers from asperger's syndrome. A friendship that ends up lasting twenty-two years.

I really enjoyed this, the ending is so heartbreaking yet amazing at the same time. So so good visually too!

It really was, heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time, it was the first time in a while that I cried at a movie; my mum even asked me what was the matter, was an awkward five minutes  I was quite surprised at how dark it got actually, both in story and humour, I thought the movie was targeted at children, clearly not.

Just watched this and felt GODAWFUL when I didn't weep like a bitch at the last scene. So emotional though - absolutely loved it all. The dark, deadpan humour throughout it all was just fantastic though!
