I do believe that these are allowed in The Lounge before being moved to the chart forum upon completion? Anyway, I haven't counted this down in many many years - and a hell of a lot has changed and there are of course some new entries. Thought it would be a nice way to pass some time, I won't rush through it though. Here are the 100 songs that have defined my life. I must apologise for the lack of anything predating the mid 90s - I wasn't into music before this time really (only classical - middle class child alert!) and although I LOVE a lot of songs from before this time, they don't really connect with me in the same way that this 100 do, I feel no attachment to them particularly. I must also apologise for what some people will see as VERY questionable choices, but hey - it's my life! Here are the three that just missed out:

> Mason vs. Princess Superstar - Perfect Exceeder

> Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart

> ATB - Don't Stop

Predictions are welcome and I shall start the countdown shortly!

100. Love Inc - You're A Superstar

Personal chart top 5 run: 2-3-5-2-1-1-1-5-4-5

A xmas 2002 hit that spent MANY a week at #7, slightly dampened success wise due to the mighty success of the Popstars trio Girls Aloud, One True Voice and The Cheeky Girls. I found this uplifting slice of dance very much to my taste, very retro - I later found out that it was in fact a #1 in their native Canada in 1998, and hadn't been reworked for the UK release - that's why it was so dated then! I recall watching the strange video many a time at school on whatever we used to watch videos on the internet on before Youtube existed.

It's still amazing, it pained me to chop it out :drama: I loved the original instrumental version Exceeder first before the Princess Superstar version surfaced!

Hey Shelli. Any particular reason for Bernie?

Hmm, we'll see about that!

I echo Pavel, I love Perfect Exceeder; when I first really started to get into music in 2006, I had this on repeat on holiday. I will be looking forward to following the countdown ^_^

You remind of Bernie in Weekend at bernies

Satellite will just be missing out on the top 10 :( Other predictions are Stay The Night, Release Me & Love Song. But I look forward most to the tracks I don't know, could be some great discoveries.

Thanks Daniel, hope you see some more songs that you like. Perfect Exceeder really was quite something, I know it was playing off the success of Fedde Le Grand and Bodyrox but it made for a glorious trio of electro top 3 hits

I love that song

It's so great

A compliment if ever I heard one

Better Off Alone, that is a tune
Love Song FTW! :cheer: Love You're A Superstar...great start. :D

99. Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten

Personal chart top 5 run: 1-1-2-4-4-OUT-3-5

To 2004 and the day I bought Natasha Bedingfield's debut album after loving These Words. This was the instant standout track for me and duly went to the top of my personal chart as an album track. It later became a single and respectable top ten hit in the UK, but really took on a life of its own after this becoming one of the most played songs of the decade in the US and going top five there, not to mention it soundtracking every advert/teen show going. I still look back to the days when it was a mere album track that few had heard, and that was probably when I loved it most. Like the previous song, gloriously uplifting - I love the gospel choir in the middle 8, so over the top!

For some reason I always thought 'Unwritten' was NatBed's UK #1, not 'These Words'. Was disappointed when I found out about my confusion. Unwritten is much better.
Unwritten is another sexy song  You have good taste so far Bernie
I've just realised how "Price Tag" (well, most Jessie J songs barring DILAD) could so easily be sung by Natasha Bedingfield.
I love your number 100, I remember listening to it around the time of release. I've also got to give some love to Princess Superstar 'Perfect' and ATB 'Don't Stop' - both songs made my Top 50 Dance Songs Ever list, with ATB making number 18.
