I loved The Cure up til Disintegration, too... after that..... not bothered at all.

And whilst I love Pornography-era black as hell Cure, I think some of their poppier stuff is pure brilliance. In fact, my favourite Cure track is Let's Go To Bed, one of their poppiest ever. It's nigh-on a perfect pop song, that.

The cure have has a few class songs since Disintegration - Apart, To Wish Impossible Things, Want being my faves.

I'm late to the REM party but New Adventures In Hi-Fi is my favourite of theirs with Automatic For The People a close second. I can't say that I really love any of their other albums, Out Of Time in particular is absolutely dreadful to these ears.

As for The Cure, they do have some great moments after Disintegration... I was rather fond of the Bloodflowers album for a start.

I should check out Bloodflowers really as it's often favourably commented on but I've just never bothered.

As for Let's Got To Bed it is great and so are all the poppy ones up until Catch and Just Like Heaven but I just love the early stuff so much more

I just listened to it and it's better than I rememberd - I think it may even be their best album.

Here's what I make of the gloriously unpopular Out of Time

05 "Radio Song" (feat. KRS-One)

10 "Losing My Religion"

08 "Low"

10 "Near Wild Heaven"

07 "Endgame"

06 "Shiny Happy People"

08 "Belong"

10 "Half a World Away"

09 "Texarkana"

10 "Country Feedback"

07 "Me in Honey"

How on Earth can you give Shiny Whiny People 6/10.

A -10/10 if ever I heard it. It would so make my worst 10 songs ever.

Because it isn't as awful as people say it is. The intro is good and the verses are fine. Before I listened to it I thought it might be a 4 but it's perfectly adequate.
