The fact that Joyce couldn't care less about the guests is what makes her funny..

great news for benidorm fans.

the 9th series of the show has been confirmed, and is currently in pre production

best news i've heard today

How?!? It's just got worse and worse by year imo.

because people enjoy it, and their's no lack of things that you can do with itt

it's shows such as benidorm that can just go on, and on, and on, and i suppose the fan base comes from people who have been to benidorm and can relate

it's also easy viewing. it's good to have in the back ground, and if you're really in to it like me, even better

God what a depressing thought.

God what a depressing thought.

what's depressing about it?

people enjoy eastenders, or emmerdale, or cori, which are just the same.. set in diffrent places

take emmerdale. it's set on a farm and in a village, people talk, their are fires, people get killed off, etc etc etc

now the only diffrence i see between that and benidorm is that benidorm's set in spain, and it's not a soap

my point is, those things can (and have) happened in benidorm.

i'm just a real fan of it, and i don't understand why so many people can't see the good parts of it

There are no good points to it, any hint of quality has long gone and been gone for years now. It's poorly written and even more poorly "acted".

well, we'll agree to disagree.

my last comment on the matter is that it must be well liked because itv begged darren litten to write more episodes (he planned to end it after series 4)

I've really enjoyed this series actually, I think I missed most of last year due to clashes with Celebrity Big Brother but I was able to +1 it during any clashes this year. I don't think it's particularly declined from a few years ago though, it's very silly of course but it's light relief for me and just a bit of fun! Brightened up my Mondays this year.

hey,

so glad you enjoyed the show!

:)

what were your highlights of this series?

i think the episode where tiger and joey went climbing the mountain was very funny, and also had a shock ending.. the hiker guy nominated them for an award which i didn't expect.

best episode of all time though:

the episode where they get the olympic swimming team in the hotel- and they end up unable to perform (even though it had joyce in it, it was still funny)

Hey! :D I think that was my favourite episode too actually, but I've enjoyed the series as a whole really. I've only really been more of a casual fan of the show in the past but I found myself looking forward to each new episode this series. I quite like Joyce myself, the fact she blatantly only cares for herself is what makes me laugh. Tyger and Joey provided the best moments throughout though

filming for the new series has begun

among the returning cast is joyce temple-savage, jeff/ the oracle, Mateo Castellanos les/lesley, and sam (not seen since series 5)

more to be announced

i'm hoping that chrissie rock (janey), will return for at least 1/2 episodes, but i'm not sure.

and jackalin has to return, right?. what's benidorm without her

i'm having my doubts about this series for some reason

Kenneth is back.. my friend took a selfie with him whilst on holiday this week

Tyger & Joey are back, as is Rob Dawson, but I haven't heard anything about the rest of the Dawson family..

I hope they don't come back or, if they do, leave the grandad and daughter at home. They were super annoying.

I think season 7 proved that it's best to just leave it to having the core cast and maybe throw one or two new characters into the mix.

Looking back, nothing really happened in S7. Madge coming back for one episode was a waste of time and we didn't see any character development.

I hope the writing is better for S8, it needs freshening up.

that's so cool meeting a member of the cast from benidorm.

wow.

Julie Graham's character is definitely back, my friend's sister met her there while also on holiday

which one is she

i could go on the cast list and look, but why do that when i can ask here

Had to look it up myself, couldn't remember her name! She plays Sheron Dawson ^_^

well, their goes my wanting janey to return.

she probably won't.. even if i wanted her too. and it's sad

it's been reported that Tim Healy, best known for playing les/lesley in benidorm has been taken ill and airlifted to hospital

the 64 year old actor was struck down with a mystery illness during filming

he's said to be feeling a little better, but he's now written out of half of the 9th series

such ashame.. i didn't realise what a good actor he was until i rewatched some of his best moments from the show.. he is really good.

Re Watched Series 7 opener on itv last night, I miss Tygers Dad and aunt they was funny and made series 7 for me.. his dad last night singing frankies - F.U.R.B again was still as funny as first time.

I really dont like Joey but as long as keep Tyger I dont mind can see them putting last seasons new lad with them and could possibly bring back Michael Garvey lads holiday type thing
