Can I just say a massive thanks to all the girls who've reported back tonight and sunday, you're an absolute star!

Well now the show is in the can so to speak, I'm hoping a copy has been whizzed off to the label and that it's being added onto the dvd version of Echoes.

Course you can be a total brat Phil, :P but I still want it on plus lots of other stuff as well though, like loads of live footage from other things and acoustic sets would be great too. B)

How where Will and Kate interacting, any stories about them would be much appreciated - i can imagine most of the fun maybe edited out!

I'm bait annoyed that All Time Love, Evergreen and You And I weren't considered.

I would replace Changes with All Time Love 100% sure.. But he's got so many great songs it's tough to decide.

I personally think he was referring to Gareth in the early years, jealous not of talent but jealous of the attention he was getting when Will won fair and square

and even then Cowell and Co prioritised Gareth. I think Kate knew this....and thats why she kept asking!

Any anecdotes about Kate and Will..........please - they get on like a house on fire right!?

Thanks for all the up-dates from last night :cheer: :cheer: Thrilled to bits that you had such a great evening Susan and really apprecoiate all the up-dates :friends: OMG I am so excited about seeing the show :bounce: :bounce: lol THink Bev; Shell and Phil need their own show on TV, you are so very funny re your posts lol

The London Studios

A night with Will Young, The London Studios - review

Showtime: a relaxed Will Young let the sophistication of the music do the work

By David Smyth

4 Aug 2011

4*

"A TV special - it's what you dream of," said Will Young, looking back on a long career in a fickle industry that began a decade ago with a slightly posh kid in jeans singing Blame It On The Boogie to a nonplussed Simon Cowell.

So long after winning Pop Idol, he is still considered a Saturday night draw for ITV, which will broadcast this comeback special in a few weeks.

The time-consuming artifice of television, with its multiple takes and pre-planned inane questions from the fan-club audience, did not extend to the music, which was live, loud and tightly drilled.

Young opened with a stirring Your Game, rousingly backed by members of the London Community Gospel Choir. His career-launching take on José Feliciano's version of Light My Fire was duly trotted out, as well as a cleverly staged rendering of his lush ballad Who Am I, but it was obvious he was keen to get to the new stuff. After a "hits" collection two years ago, he's about to release the last album of his contract with Sony Music, Echoes, on August 22, so he's setting himself up for a new chapter. A dance direction has been hinted at and while he's certainly gone a bit electronic, it is more subtle

than that.

Lie Next To Me was a wisp of a song, Young singing in a higher, more delicate register than before as the synths washed around him.

The new single, Jealousy, stood out for its warm rush of a chorus. The singer seemed relaxed, letting the sophistication of the music do the work, not feeling the need to showboat around the notes as he has in the past. He may have to resign himself to never managing a bigger hit than Leave Right Now, which sounded as impressive as ever here.

But as he confessed in conversation with host Kate Thornton, his diva days are behind him. He seemed content to create quality pop music for his personal satisfaction, and if he gets a television show with his name in the title at the same time, that's fine too.

To be broadcast on August 27, ITV1

Thanks Sunday. Looks fab, like something out of a movie :w00t:

Sajjadali, ATL, Evergreen and You&I were promoted fully when he released The Hits album, he's promoting his new 5th studio album and these songs wouldn't have fitted in at all.

As for being jealous of Gareth an 18 year old kid? forget it, it was Will's fans who were angry at the time but Will was always friendly with Gareth and never said a bad word against him, unlike Gareth who, because of his young age most probably, (and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here,) didn't always do the same for Will. Most likely somebody like Robbie Williams or maybe even some new act who got a few Brit performances in while Will's won 2 Brits, had 10 nominations and no performance? It could be anyone or anything, but I'm positive it wasn't Gareth, who was on his way out as a pop star before Will even released fridays Child.
