There is a post in the generic thread in the lounge but surely the passing of a guy who portrayed one of the most iconic TV figures of the 70's and 80's deserves a mention to himself.

Not only superb as the dishevelled cop Falk was an incredibly good actor - period! My faves were A Woman Under The Influence, Husbands, The In-Laws and one of the weirdest films I've ever seen from the late 1960's - Castle Keep.

If you ever, ever only get to see one episode of Columbo - try and watch 'How To Dial A Murder' - this is the episode with the Dobermans and guest starring Nicol Williamson.
