Can't wait for Liam to give us his total estimates for the pre 1994 singles!

Bit of a tricky one really but here's my comments:

'Better the Devil You Know' sold an estimated 220k/232k in 1990, which would put it on either 307k/319k to date. The OCC, however, must have a higher estimate for its 1990 sales as they had it on 340k pure sales as of April 2018. Using Kylie's most streamed songs list, I estimate 'Devil' to be on ~370k under the OCC's estimates.

'Step Back in Time' sold 144k in 1990, 'What Do I Have to Do' sold 130k in 1991 and 'Shocked' sold 100k, which would put their totals on 169k, 147k and 111k respectively. 'Shocked' has definitely been downgraded as it was under 100k as of April 2018. I feel like the other two have had their 90s sales revised down too but not too drastically.

'Word is Out', 'Finer Feelings', 'What Kind of Fool' and 'Celebration' are in the 60k-70k bracket; 'If You Were With Me Now' might just be over 100k now or still just under.

'Give Me Just a Little More Time' is a tricky one. Despite what the OCC say, it has not sold anywhere near 300k. I've seen estimates for its 1992 sales from 138k to 161k - I personally go for 138k so its sales to date are just under 150k.

'Confide in Me' had sold an estimated 209k in 1994, which has since been downgraded. It had sold 189k pure sales as of April 2018, so ~19k from streams.

'Put Yourself in My Place' had sold an estimated 109k in 1994 plus trickle sales in 1995, which has since been downgraded. It was immediately under 'Get Outta My Way' on the April 2018 list which had sold 100k pure sales, so about 7-10k worth of streams.

Poor 'Where is the Feeling' only managing 2.1k since June 2009! 'Some Kind of Bliss' has actually managed more sales since then than 'Did It Again' (6.6k vs. 5.8k) and just short of 'Breathe' (6.7k). Hmm.

'Where the Wild Roses Grow' had pure sales of ~95k in April 2018, so ~30k from streams.

-x-

On to the albums...

I don't know how much Rhythm of Love or Let's Get to It sold pre-1994 and the only overall estimates I have are 265k and 70k respectively, so they're still pretty much on the same amount. Surprised they've sold a similar amount post-1994 considering the difference in total sales.

KM94 has sold 4,932 since June 2009, which includes 1.6k from the Sainsbury's exclusive vinyl release last year. Impossible Princess has sold 3,334 copies since, which is pretty much the same as KM94 when you exclude those vinyl sales.

Interesting that Kylie's Non-Stop History 50+1 has outsold the 1992 Greatest Hits - would not have guessed that. The 1-4 Remix albums selling ~10k is pretty good too.

Chart sales history is a mess  revised sales, altering chart positions (I’m looking at ‘Get Into You’ Dannii -_- ). It’s like their rewriting history.
Okay that's much better compared to the 2k

Thank you so much for all these info!

Can you help with sharing the figures of all spice and solo spice related singles and albums? And share them on their forum? Thanks in advance !

The info is from @AJ, pretty sure he's too busy right now with work and also he has a lot of requests. But I'm sure he'll be willing to do it sometimes later, just remind him again in a few weeks ;)

btw it's his birthday today - happy b-day @AJ, and thank you for all the numbers!

Happy Birthday AJ and sincere thank you for all the information you have provided us with.

Happy Birthday @AJ !

Thank you for the birthday wishes guys, was a lovely surprise. Will do Kylie's 80's stuff next week, not that there will be much. And then it will all be updated!
Thank you so much once again AJ, you're a true beacon of light.

What do the bracketed figures in the last update represent out of curiosity?

If it's the numbers I put in brackets then it represents the current yearly average, although not the long term average as the averages for most songs seem to be steadily increasing due to streaming. But yea, should be the average units moved each year :)

It is welcoming that Impossible Princess has managed silver status but disappointing it remains Kylie's lowest selling album.

I would greatly welcome the Vinyl release when it comes to bring those sales up.

It will never happen but I'd love IP to overtake KMO.

Thanks again for spoiling us all so much, AJ! Can't wait for the next batch. :yahoo:

Ed Sheeran now has more number ones than Kylie. :manson:

Kind of depressing really, although I always find it hard to compare such stats between eras, especially since sales are calculated differently.

Just wondering, since we got the sales for Dannii's 'Girl' album, is there any chance we can get sales for her other albums and her singles? Very curious to see what her sales actually are.

Well, both L&K and GIY are pre-1994 where sales are only estimates, which is why I only asked about Girl. Either way L&K was said to be around 250k and GIY would probably be around the same as Girl - ie 15-20k area.

The Hits & Beyond was reported to be around 43k in 2009 and Neon Nights was at 101k; with the laters reissues it might be around 105k (going by the Girl reissue I assume hers tend to sell in the 2-3k area). Club Disco was at 2.5k in the UK. I assume her other cash-in releases are in that area too.

ETA here's sales given in June 2009:

From the OCC:

Taken from her 2015 album Kylie Christmas, Every Day's Like Christmas was originally recorded as a winter-warming ballad but found new life after undergoing a remix by Stock Aitken Waterman. Unsurprisingly, it could easily sit among her '80s hits and seems to be the preferred version with fans, now approaching 1.25 million streams. Kylie's biggest post-2000 Christmas single became her 50th Top 40 hit when it charted for the first time in December 2017 – Santa Baby is on 330,000 combined sales, including 47.2 million streams.
