30th December:

781,078 - Santa Baby

164,380 - Kylie Christmas

^ Re-entry at #152 with 1,093 sales. 22nd week in the Top 200. 990 streaming, 42 CDs, 40 Vinyl, 21 Downloads.

It sold 959 copies the previous week (23rd Dec) but this was 72 sales away from being enough for Top 200.

Thank you Jay! 'Santa Baby' shifted another 101k in 2022 and is comfortably 3rd on Kylie's biggest songs list.

I know Chart Plus says 22 weeks but I only have 21:

Good news it managed another week via the big Christmas streams…..so almost 1 million U.K.only streams despite Santa Baby and the runner up being down weighted!! A few more thousand added each year.

I looked back, and the chart run was missing one week!

Decent that a few sales get credited to KC each year, even though it was nothing special I think the vinyl could have done slightly better (especially with the original commanding £200+ resale prices), if it wasn’t for the fact of forums etc., I wouldn’t have even known it was being released unless I’d stumbled upon it

For the 2000's I could only find week by week sales until the end of 2002 at the moment as the info i've been getting is from the Haven forums & they're still posting 2002, so we will have to wait for the rest. This is what I have so far.

80,000 for a number 2, what stopped LAFS?

It was up against ‘A Little Less Conversation’ by Elvis vs. JXL which opener with 243k. 80k wouldn’t guarantee a #1 in 2002 though, however it could have been a number one if released the week prior.

I know I can't really argue against Elvis vs JXL beating it with that level of popularity, but I always absolutely despised it and the fact it beat one of my favourite Kylie songs will forever leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

Thats exactly how i feel, and i have never forgiven it for stopping love at first sight going number 1.

Well in a weird way Slow was very lucky to get Number 1 ! Also one of my faves!
I remember when Slow was released about how it was the lowest selling number one single at that point - probably not entirely true, but of course a lot of that was down to the physical singles market starting to crash.
Nowhere near true. It was (at the time of entering at No 1) only the 11th lowest weekly sale for 2003 alone.
I think in terms of overall sales though it was, I don't think it even cleared 100k in its initial run.

Ah fair enough then. To that point yes I think it was

^ that’s interesting to know, i bet Dannii has no idea 😀😀
