Seeing as their old forum hasn't be in use due to be moved and archived etc. I thought i'd start a thread in here seeing they are a rock band (obviously).

 

The Red Hot Chili Peppers return from an over 4 year hiatus with their 10th studio album "I'm With You". The first album to feature Josh Klinghoffer and the first release without John Frusciante. Their first record from the album will be The Adventures of Raindance Maggie which will released end of August 11/ Early September.

 

So any Chili fans in here as I'm sure one of them. Some notable classics include Under The Bridge, Californication, By The Way, Dani California, Give It Away, Scar Tissue and so on.

Naturally RHCP are incredible, but I can't help but feel they lost it massivley with 'Stadium Arcadium'. I hope this is the COMEBACK OF DREAMS, but I can't see it.

I liked the singles from 'Stadium Arcadium'. Maybe with the exception of 'Desecration Smile'.

Stadium arcadium was very hit and miss for me, hopefully the new album will be stronger and more chilli peppers this time.

Loved By the way, last album was a double and it didn't even have an albums worth of good songs :| I'm holing out hope thos this although other than 'my friends' I heard no good songs with John in the group!

 

First single to premier on Radio 1 with Zane Lowe date 18th July. Can't wait. Hope it's a great song :)

I think that's generous, I'd say it was far more miss and miss personally.

Now i know you can't judge an album based on singles, venice queen and dosed were two amazing tracks on 'by the way' for instance that didn't get released here but what surprised me was that compared to so many of their great previous albums Stadium Arcadium had 28 shots and doing something special yet all we got from it was singles like hump de bump :| , i haven't even bothered on that album based on the annoying singles and 30 second samples alone but from reviews i don't think i'm missing out.

That pretty much sums it up. Certainly doesn't sound like it's worth the 5 year wait and could have slotted on Stadium Arcadium unfortunately.

I haven't really liked much since Californication. I detested the Zerpyr Song...or whatever that was called

I certainly prefer it to 'Dani California' at least, it's not bad...

Yeah, it's not horrendous. Quite catchy after a few listens and certainly better than alot on Stadium Arcadium (not that that's difficult). They've had their time now though I think, and you can definitley tell they've lost their brilliant guitarist.

Its pretty good on first listen, I do kind of agree that they are past their peak now though

I'd love to have another epic acoustic chili's song like Breaking the girl or My friends, i don't think thats gonna happen somehow, this song is lead material?? Damn... :(

As far as I'm concerned RHCP will never do a better album than BloodSugarSexMagik, that was just classic...

They will never be as good as they were in their early days but they can still come up with a decent album at the same time.

Californication is my favourite, almost perfect summer album. Scar Tissue and a cold beer :wub:

 

Interesting that Under the Bridge never reached top ten and miserably that cover by All Saints went number one.
