Ramrynia qualify for the final!

 

For the first time since Shannon Saunders back in September, Ramrynia have qualified for the final of BJSC! The promising odds for Listenbee so far gives us hope that we have a chance of our first top 10 finish since Indiana, but to be in the final is a great achievement already! Thank you to everyone who voted for 'Save Me' in the semi-final. :cheer:

 

A record-breaking contest for Ramrynia!

 

Yesterday evening, the final results show of BJSC LXXI was held in Republic of Adonia and Altyr Muunilinst were crowned winners for the second time in three contests. Ramrynia were in the top 5 for nearly the entirety of the contest, having a couple of spells at the top of the leaderboard. However as Altyr Muunilinst pulled away, Ramrynia battled to stay on the podium and following a strong finish to the voting - our entry Listenbee and 'Save Me' came away with a 2nd place with 165 points! This is a joint record finish for Ramrynia, following 2 previous second place finishes, and only 4 points less that our record final points total of 169 set by 'Jubel' in BJSC LIX.

 

It has now been revealed that Ramrynia won the first semi-final, our second semi-final win following Indiana's semi final victory in BJSC LXII. Listenbee finished with a massive 117 points in the semi-final, which is a record number of points collected in a semi-final for Ramrynia, beating previous record holder Elen Levon who scored 113 points back in BSC XLVIII with 'Dancing To The Same Song'. Overall, this was a fantastic contest for Ramrynia so thank you to everyone who supported our entry. We hope that eventually we will achieve that final victory, we will have to wait and see!

Phoebe Ryan for BJSC 72!

 

After an extremely successful contest for Ramrynia last time out in the Republic of Adonia, we are heading to Altyr Muunilinst for the 72nd edition of BJSC! Phoebe Ryan will be representing Ramrynia in BJSC 72 with her new single 'Mine' which follows her cover mash-up of 'Ignition/Do You...' that received much praise in the blogosphere. 'Mine' has been described as "a beautiful blend of electro pop and indie synth-rock" with Phoebe's voice and style being compared to the likes of Tove Lo and Chvrches. We love this track and we hope all of the participants this month do too!

Ramrynia secure a top 20 finish in BJSC 72!

 

Following an exciting results show, it was revealed that Ramrynia's BJSC 72 entrant Phoebe Ryan and her song 'Mine' finished in 17th place with 111 points! While this was lower than many predictions suggested, it's great to have another top 20 finish! It has also been revealed that Phoebe finished 11th in the second semi final with 71 points. We look forward to the next contest being held in Hushkanukia!

Erika Selin represents Ramrynia in BJSC 73!

 

Following tonight's semi-final reveal in Hushkanukia, we are very excited to announce that the Ramrynia entry for BJSC 73 will be 'Break Me Up' by Swedish singer Erika Selin. She may have finished third in the Irish Eurovision National Final last month, but don't let that put you off as a Swede taking part in an Irish contest immediately put her at a disadvantage. 'Break Me Up' is a fantastic pop tune, with a massive chorus and a glorious key change. The sound of the song is also reminiscent of Timoteij, although the sound was possibly Erika's before Timoteij as Erika entered 'Kom' into Melodifestivalen 2010 before the song was then given to the girlband instead. However Timoteij repaid Erika for taking her song as they were her backing band in the aforementioned Irish National Final last month!

Ramrynia finish 26th in BJSC 73!

 

Following an exciting results show in Hushkanukia for the final of BJSC 73, it was revealed that Ramrynia had finished in 26th place with 79 points with our entry 'Break Me Up' by Erika Selin! It was also revealed that Erika had finished in 5th place with 91 points in the second semi-final, an achievement no-one could have predicted! We are very excited for the next contest especially with the new expanded contest rules coming into play for the first time!

BJSC 74: Elen Levon returns in a collaboration with Spada!

Ramrynia are extremely pleased to announce that our entry for the 74th BJSC will be a collaboration between Italian dance producer Spada & Australian pop singer Elen Levon with the song 'Cool Enough'. The track is a fantastic fusion of Ramrynia's two favourite music genres, pop and deep house, with Elen providing a fantastic melodic pop vocal that compliments Spada's tropical influenced deep house production. The song has seen success in Italy but has unfortunately yet to breakthrough into other territories, although we hope this will change!

Of course, Elen is no stranger to BJSC. We first saw her guiding the Federal Republic of Ashton to 2nd place in BJSC 42 with the fantastic 'Like A Girl In Love' and 6 contests later, Elen matched that position for Ramrynia with 'Dancing To The Same Song' which resulted in Ramrynia being able to host their first BJSC! Elen also returned again for Ramrynia for BJFestivalen II but failed to make it out of the heat with 'Wild Child' to the surprise of many.

This is one of our favourite entries ever, with 'Cool Enough' reaching the top of our charts around four months ago. We are so pleased to finally be able to present this song to everyone and hope this can become the perfect summer anthem as we head into the summer season!

Spada & Elen finish top 10 in record-breaking BJSC 74!

 

Tonight saw the results show of the first expanded final format of the ever-growing BJSC live from Daehun. The high number of points available allowed Ramrynia entrants Spada & Elen Levon to smash the country's previous personal best number of points in a final, beating previous holder Klingande by nearly 100 points. 'Cool Enough' finished in a fantastic 6th place with 253 points. Furthermore, Spada & Elen finished in 2nd place with 104 points in the first semi-final.

 

We had no expectations for this entry as it was just a song we've wanted to enter for a few months now but never found the right moment. To come away with such a fantastic result is so pleasing so thank you to everyone who voted for our entry. We look forward to the upcoming 75th edition of BJSC to be held in Persephonia!

SLO represents Ramrynia in BJSC 75 as Krewella finishes second in YBO!

 

After tonight's artist parade in BJSC 75 host country Persephonia, it was revealed that SLO would represent Ramrynia with her stunningly beautiful ballad 'Shut Out Of Paradise. SLO may be more familiar to some of you by her actual name Jess Mills who previously finished top 10 in BJSC with 'End Credits' for Isconia. This is a very different type of song for Ramrynia and we hope that you enjoy our change in sound this month!

 

Furthermore, after the results of BJSC: Your Best of, Ramrynia finished in 2nd place with 272 points with our entry 'Alive' by Krewella. Finishing just six points behind Aquafina's Nikki Williams, who got our 18 points, it's a fantastic result for us and our fourth second place finish overall in BJSC. Hopefully one day that win will arrive!

Ramrynia qualify for their first BJFestivalen final!

After SLO's failure to qualify in BJSC 75 with a 22nd place finish in her semi-final, Ramrynia have made an earlier than expected return to a BJSC final via spin-off competition Buzzjackfestivalen! Ramrynia have had a poor record in this spin-off with Elen Levon finishing 7th in her heat in the second edition and Bonnie Anderson finishing 8th in her heat in the third edition, therefore both failing to progress any further.

For the fourth edition, and Ramrynia's third attempt in the spin-off, Ramrynia have sent the Sam Feldt remix of 'Rush', a collaboration between producer Zwette and singer-songwriter Molly, who achieved a UK top 10 hit with 'Raindrops (Encore Une Fois)' a few years ago as part of Stunt and took part in last year's Eurovision Song Contest where she represented the UK with 'Children of the Universe' giving the country their best finish since Blue in 2011.

'Rush' is a massive summer anthem with gorgeous vocals and tropical house influences, not forgetting plenty of saxophone instrumentals! It has already become Ramrynia's best performing Buzzjackfestivalen entry after securing automatic qualification to the final in last night's results. Thank you for all of the support so far and we can't wait for the final!

Ramrynia finish fourth in BJFestivalen!

 

A very exciting BJFestivalen IV final results show in the Federal Republic of Ashton last night saw Ramrynia claim 4th place with 114 points, a fantastic result for our first final appearance in the spin-off! Thank you to everyone who voted for 'Rush' and we look forward to confirming our entry for BJSC 76, an entry that is already chosen!

 

For the first time, every single spin-off result for Ramrynia can now be found in the opening post!

 

ASTR are Ramrynia's entry in BJSC 76!

 

Following tonight's semi-final reveals in the Republic of Adonia and Unovia, it has been revealed that Ramrynia will open the first semi-final in the Republic of Adonia with 'Activate Me' by American mixed duo ASTR. You may remember ASTR from a previous BJSC when they represented Syndare with 'Operate', finishing inside the top 10. 'Activate Me' was produced by Rodney Jerkins otherwise known as Darkchild and is described as a fusion of 90s garage music, soul and dance-pop - and it sounds massive!

ASTR secure a top 10 return for Ramrynia!

 

On Tuesday night, Kylienips hosted the final results show of the 76th BJSC and it was revealed that Ramrynia entrant ASTR had finished in 9th place with their song 'Activate Me' securing 210 points. Incredibly, 35 countries voted for Ramrynia in the final which was the third highest number in the final, just 4 less voters than winners Aquafina and 1 less voter than Hendinia. It was later revealed Ramrynia finished in 3rd place in the first semi final with 106 points.

 

We are very pleased to have had another very successful contest so thank you to everyone who voted for us! We look forward to taking part in the next contest in Aquafina.

 

 

EVVY returns and qualifies for the BJSC 77 final!

 

Last week it was revealed that EVVY would represent Ramrynia once again in BJSC, following her 31st place finish in BJSC 66 with 'Haze'. Her entry for BJSC 77, 'Tidal Wave' is a change in sound for EVVY with its blend of dream-pop, dance and tropical sounds. Billboard have called it a "quintessential summer release" and RontBet and PersepBet have already made EVVY one of the favourites to win the contest!

 

EVVY negotiated the first hurdle of the contest last night as she was one of the first qualifiers to be announced from the first semi-final, and now we look forward to seeing if she can live up to her favourite status in the final over the coming days. We really appreciate all the support for 'Tidal Wave' so far and hopefully it can secure another great result for Ramrynia!
