if they brought out a cd then this would go top 40 just easily and maybe a bitof promo?

if love love was released on sunday not wednesday then it would have gone top 10 or better. if the kidz cd, promo and video were released in sync then it would have gone top 10. if the flood had been released when it should have been, that is the day they performed it on x factor then it would have stormed to number 1 with the 89k sales added to the 69k sales of the week before.

 

its all IFS and BUTS, they should have sorted out their schedules. Personally i think its all down to Robbie. Take That prior to Progress(ed) released singles. videos, cd, and promo all in sync. Rob comes along and because he lives in LA and is unreliable to say the least they havent known when he will be around for promo or when he will be around to film the video..etc etc

 

either way, Progress has done amazingly since release and is now 8xplatinum which is a great effort. Secretly im hoping for a 7th album from the 4 of them, with maybe robbie giving vocals to a couple of album tracks if that. I love the use of Rob's voice in this project and can't really see them without him now, but i cant wait for Barlow to pick up the strings again and organise things without wondering where Rob will be that day or whether he will be on point the next.

 

Still, sales of Progress Live on DVD and this rumoured Live album are sure to be ridiculously high once more. Thankfully

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nothing to do with Rob at all in my opinion. The songs just aren't very good. They're OK - but nothing special. For instance - I'd rather listen to the awful (but at least lively) Swagger Jagger over the terminally dreary WWWY.

 

They should have been more picky with their choices of singles. They had no choice with The Flood - it was obviously the most single-sounding of the songs on the album. And if they weren't going to do any promo or physical CD's then they should only have released ONE more single from the album - possibly the song that everyone (even me) seems to like - Happy Now - which I'm sure could have gone top 10 on the back of CR. Better to have two top 10 hits than one number 2 and four 'also rans'.

they have released a new video of wwwy incorporating clips froms the 3 musketeers

 

I dont think neither the band or the record company seem to care about the singles anymore, which i frustrating at times as the releases are better, om saying that when we were young while i do like it isnt hugely single material and i would agree something like happy now would have made a better offical single.

 

Love love could have done so much better had it been marketed better, but cosnidering how sloppy the release was it has done well and has sold well over 100,000 at this stage so it isnt exactly a flop and likewise with kids for a single that peaked low top 30 its sales are decent.

 

They definitly should have given when we were young a phyisical release as its the closure of this era and the hardcore fans would have bought it, it would have also boosted its chart position and probably ensured it went top 75, i dont know where it is on itunes now but its almost certain its going to be their worst performing single since the band began.

The song is not their best single by a long shot but it deserves to do somewhat better than it is currently performing. The album will more than likely benefit in the sales department on the back of it.

I really think its previous number 88 debut will be its peak. :angry:

Would love to know where it charted this week as it hasnt made the top 100 :angry:

ive just read an article saying that simon cowell hopes to persuade Gary to perform with Take That on the live shows of X Factor.

 

I wonder if this will happen. It surely should be on the cards, just wonder whether they will do a song from their catalogue as a 4 piece or whether they will do something recent maybe WWWY ?? I only say they may perform as a 4 as Rob will be performing himself and promoting his new solo material so i wonder if he would want to do the Take That thing at the same time....sort of hope they would do WWWY just to boost its chart position and go top 40.

 

Or maybe they will just do Never Forget on the last show as usual.

I think unless Take That (4 or 5) have a brand new offering to show us - then I really don't think it would be proper for them to appear. Unless as you say - performing Never Forget on the last show.

 

I certainly hope they DO NOT perform WWWY. I can't help it - I just cannot abide the song - tuneless and lyrically - a bit maudlin'!

I couldnt see theem performing unless they have a new song to be honest and i think its unfair if they did go on and not have a new song. In a way they really go on and sing never forget, as usually thats used by one the acts so by gary joining in would it not be very unfair on the other contestants?

hmm, for me i just think it will be weird if rob and take that do something separately now he is officially back in the band. if rob lived in the same country then maybe something could have happened but i dont know, cant see him wanting any part in it while he is promoting his solo gear..

 

although id love to be wrong! oh and i agree that WWWY isnt the strongest single but I love the meaning behind the lyrics. It would be nice if they did that, as it would promote Progress again during the Xmas period and give it a new peak.

I still like when we were young, its very sing along in the chorus part, shame it didnt do even a little better. Interesting to see what the sound will be in the next album, but i guess until then i will just have to enjoy gary on x factor, im loving him as a judge and i cant wait until the live shows kick in to see how he handles his acts.

listening to radio 1 earlier and gary has pretty much ruled out the x factor performance with take that. he says that he cant see them doing anything else this year

 

however he will be performing a duet with someone on children in need night so that could be interesting...kelly rowland maybe?

well i thought firstly that it would be with the artists who are covering teardrop. but only ndubz and ed sheeran have been confirmed to play the concert so it cant be.

so it must be that he will duet with someone else. i cant remember but do they make the children in need versions available for download like they do at the brits?

As X-Factor is now one of the few shows for promoting of singles, they have a lot of artists who will want to perform in first TV audition some new songs. So, apart from final, i don't think they will come. But who knows, perhaps they will do another movie song. For When we were young is already too late.

I think take that will be on a break for a while and i would say at least until gary is finished with x factor, im sure the others lads will be helping out here and there with that aswell. I agree x factor is one of the few shows where you can promote a single but i think it should be for new singles unless someone is performing who only releases albums and sings a song to promote that.
