August 5, 201113 yr Just read the brilliant Hallam review that Sunday mentioned and thought it should be on here Essential Tune: Will Young - 'Jealousy' http://cdnassets.mediaspanonline.com/radio/key/90207/WillYoung-Jealousy-608.jpg It’s almost a decade since Will Young brushed aside Gareth Gates to take the Pop Idol title; a win that propelled him to stardom and helped him shift an impressive 8million records. With the advent of such a milestone, Will has made the deft decision to expand his musical boundaries with the electro-tinged and utterly brilliant ‘Jealousy’, a track which sees him join forces with esteemed producer Richard X. Starting out with a plaintive piano hook delicately titillating Will’s emotionally charged and instantly recognisable vocals, it soon picks up tempo with a pulsing electronic beat before flourishing into an all out synth-pop gem. Easily the best thing Will has done in years, following the relative commercial failure of his previous three singles (which all failed to crack into the top 30), ‘Jealousy’ should propel Will back into the upper realms on the charts where he belongs. ‘Jealousy’ is available to download on 21st August 2011. Will’s fifth studio album ‘Echoes’ follows a day later. http://www.hallamfm.co.uk/music/s157_will-...ealousy-single/
August 5, 201113 yr Thanks Bev and Sunday for that love what he said about Wills voice and that he belongs at the top of the charts :cheer: love Phil xxx
August 9, 201113 yr Wasnt sure whether to post this, think the Conor comment is a bit below the belt What Kind Of Love?9 Aug Will Young’s previous album “Let It Go” was billed as his break-up album, written and released in the aftermath of his separation from a dancer named Conor. Introspective and at times fragile, it did however include glimmers of hope in songs like “Changes” that reflected being stuck in a moment, but also the yearning to break free. What price freedom, one might ask, as “Jealousy” from Will’s fifth studio album is supposedly inspired by a chance encounter with an old lover in an elevator that ”knocked him sideways, like being struck in the gut”. Ghost of Conor gone before, anyone? Wheather “Jealousy” is inspired by the loathsome Conor, or some other odious lover (who would ever leave Will?!) it lures you in with its delectable dark undertows, revealing a diary of a love obsessessive or a handbook for the wanna-be stalker. The menacing acrobatic video is also quite brilliant, very Black Swan. Richard X’s slick production prompted The Guardian to call this polite dance music for the middle-agers. I call it class. It cannot be bought, you either have it or you don’t. Will has it in spades. http://sayitwithmusic.wordpress.com/2011/0...t-kind-of-love/
August 9, 201113 yr Author Thanks Phil I'll forgive the Conor references for this. I call it class. It cannot be bought, you either have it or you don’t. Will has it in spades. :yahoo: They've just cobbled together what Will said in Attitude. From what I've heard I rather think Lie Next to Me & Secret Valentine are about his chance meeting with an x.
August 9, 201113 yr Thanks Phil - I very much doubt Will thought Conor "loathsome". :( TT I agree about Lie Next to Me - someone mentioned in a review about the lyrics.
August 11, 201113 yr Thanks Phil - I very much doubt Will thought Conor "loathsome". :( TT I agree about Lie Next to Me - someone mentioned in a review about the lyrics. My thoughts exactly  there has never been any publicised conflict between Will and a boyfriend, he must be such a fantastic boyfriend that no one has anything to say... i love that :yahoo: Love Phil xxx
August 12, 201113 yr DS review! Five Stars!! Singles Review Music Will Young: 'Jealousy' "I take it all back/ All that I said/ It comes out to fast/ So I just couldn't help the way that I felt," Will Young admits apologetically in the opening of his new single. While most of us can admit to over-sharing at the wrong moment at least once in our lives, on further investigation there appears to be a lot more to this one than getting text-happy after a few bevvies. "It feels like jealousy/ And it feels like I can't breathe," he confesses over a sad-pop disco beat and rousing piano chords helmed by electro-pop connoisseur Richard X. The tale of lusting for an otherwise engaged man, things steadily crescendo by the final chorus with a stirring, growly vocal as he confesses: "I'm tired of waiting/ I'm tired of thinking" - though after seeing how he fills out an all-in-one lycra bodysuit in the accompanying video, we can't imagine he'll be suffering for long. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesr...g-jealousy.html Edited August 12, 201113 yr by Sweetwilliamfan

August 16, 201113 yr Entertainment focus.. FIVE STARS like the album! :cheer: Will Young has proven that you can build a sustainable and successful career if you graduate from a TV reality show. Winning the original Pop Idol back in 2002, Young has gone on to sell over 8 million albums and has dabbled in acting. His last studio album was Let It Go in 2008 which achieved platinum status, as did a greatest hits release in 2009. Now Young is back with new album Echoes and its lead single Jealousy. Jealousy isn’t what people have come to expect from Will Young. Better-known for his heart-felt ballads, Young is changing things a bit with his new single. Produced by dance artist Richard X, the single takes Young’s distinctive vocals and accompanies them with a soft dance beat. The end result is simply stunning and one of our favourite pop tracks of the year so far. We’re glad to see Young doing something new and we’re very excited about his new album Echoes. Having been fans of him since Pop Idol we’re glad to see him continuing to go from strength-to-strength. This new direction will widen him up to an even bigger audience. http://entertainment-focus.com/music/artic...oung-jealousy-0
