How come you've seen all 13 episodes already Jark? What channel was it on before?

AMC.

The season finale was last month (and quite a finale it was) so the entire thing is online.

The thing is - I don't actually get to watch TV a lot. I only caught the first episode of The Killing last week as my quiz-team-mates were all away so I had the night in. I tend to just get to watch things straight from work - like Pointless and any new Come Dine With Me. Apart from these the only things I watch with any regularity are The Apprentice (which is boring me now) and shows like HIGNFY, QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You.

(Oh - and I did manage to watch all of the Walking Dead)

I got a bit excited after I saw the ads on C4 and downloaded the whole series! I think it took me four days to race through.

Oh to be young and have time not only to download whole series - but to watch them too!

Jark is spiritually 56.

Ok, my view

Annoyed Courteney cox was snubbed again

I predict Laura Linney to win the emmy. If not, Edie Falco again.

Really glad Downton abbey has been nominated alot. Especially Maggie Smith. She did some amazing performances so i hope she wins Supporting actress in a mini series.

Suprised Shameless was snubbed

Julianna or Kathy bates i predict will win Best lead female in a drama.

I hope Greg Kinnear wins for The Kennedys for best lead actor in a mini series

I hope Chris Colfer wins for Glee for best supporting actor in a comedy.

I don't think Jane Lynch has been her best this season. Would prefer Betty white to win.

Lorett Devine for her guest appearance on Grey's anatomy. She did a really sad hearbreaking performance this season on Grey's.

Don't know why Krisin chenoweth was nominated for guest actress in a comedy. Great actress. Just not that great on glee. I hope Dot Marie Jones can snatch it. Although i hoped Cynthia Nixon would be nominated for The Big C and Frances Conroy for United states of tara. They did a hell of a lot better performances.

Idris Elba was a little wooden in The Big C so i am shocked and disappointed he was even nominated.

I didn't think Idris was wooden on Big C but the character was not something he could really get his teeth into. Cynthia Nixon on the other hand was ridiculously amazing and it's a bloody travesty that she wasn't nominated.

Boo! at Courteney Cox being snubbed :( She is amazing in Cougar Town.
They should put Cable series if their own category personally. Like "Best Actress In A Cable Comedy for e.g Then have "Best Actress In A Network Comedy Series". If the the likes of Linney and Falco were in that category, it would allow Courteney and other people a chance to be nominated.

But then the cable category would be deemed less important when actually the cable actors are by and large much better than the network actors.

I highly doubt Courteney Cox was even in the top ten for consideration...

I'd love to see Joan Cusack win for Shameless - she was definitely the best thing about the series! I did actually completely forget about Cynthia Nixon too, what a shame.

Boo all you want, but I doubt any passionate US TV fan ever thought the Courteney [or Cougar Town probably] would get a nom. Not with some of the competition out there.

I have many thoughts about the nominations, but my biggest moan is Cat Deeley. I will admit that I've never seen her on the US version of So You Think You Can Dance, but I've seen her on the UK version and gosh is she terrible. Yet the wonderful Julie Chen from Big Brother is snubbed.

I think regardless whether your on cable or network, it doesn't make you any less or better an actor.

The quality of the acting tends to be higher on cable, I don't think many people would dispute that... I'm not saying doing cable makes you by default a better actor but that the parts are better written and more 3D and allow the actors to dive in in ways that aren't always possible on network TV. Certainly that applies to Showtime, HBO and AMC, and arguably to SyFy, FX etc.

SO THIS IS TONIGHT. FINAL PREDICTIONS?

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES: 'Boardwalk Empire' seems like the obvious choice (despite the incredibly uneven season). 'Mad Men' would be a better choice and definitely deserves it for the fourth time.

OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES: I'm thinking Jon Hamm could just sneak this one from Steve Buscemi. "The Suitcase" sadly won't win anything for Elisabeth Moss but maybe they'll do the right thing (with Bryan Cranston being ineligible) and FINALLY award Hamm.

OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES: No one deserves this more than Margulies (especially) and Moss but Connie Britton could cause another Sedgwick-like upset.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES: Peter Dinklage.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES: Margo Martindale.

OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES: 'Modern Family' is the current critics darling (boo) although 'Parks and Recreation' was far superior this year.

OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES: Laura Linney would be the most obvious choice (she's easily the best actress) but I think they'll probably want to go less Showtime, more "classic" comedy and give it to Melissa McCarthy. VOMIT. Poor Amy Poehler.

OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES: Louie C.K. will win next year. Sympathy vote for Steve Carrell tonight.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES: Too many nominations for 'Modern Family'. So, Chris Colfer.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES: Jane Lynch or Betty White? Tough but probably the latter. Both undeserved.

I wish I watched more American TV so that I could get excited by this. I've only watched The Amazing Race from what's been nominated. Surprised True Blood isn't nominated though?! (other than that woman)

...still watching though :P

"Julian is from England. He is also British".. WAT

Nice double win for Downton Abbey! Still not seen it yet but hell yeah British pride. Seeing a load of shows that look really good on here, I feel like I'm missing out now!

Melissa & Amy
