I always find it so awkward when certain dead celebrities get an applause and others don't. That whole section was a bit of a cringe though.

Don't know why I'm still watching. Feels like the Oscar's pre show.

MAD MEN. AGAIN. Hurray. How insulting that 'The Suitcase' and Jon Hamm didn't win though.

YAY for J Marg and Downton. Especially DAME Maggie, who is the best thing in an amazing show *.*

OH DEAR LADY MARY

My Lady Mary is looking wonderful there. YAY for J Marg too!

Very pleased Margo Martindale got Supporting Actress in a Drama. She was absolutely terrifying in Justified (which should have won more btw).

I'm not a big Julie Bowen fan at the best of times but that Modern Family episode she won for was nothing special at all. Odd.

Really enjoyed the ceremony, Jane Lynch was ok as a host and I really liked the opening skit. The emmytones weren't too annoying either. My favourite part was probably Ricky Gervais though.

So happy that The Good Wife managed to pick up something, Julianna is such a great actress and I enjoyed seeing her present an award too.

I wish I watched more American TV so that I could get excited by this. I've only watched The Amazing Race from what's been nominated.

You watch TAR, Jake? Gives me a good reason to start a thread for the next cycle :D

Which episode was it she won for? I love Modern Family and am happy that it won so many awards, but Sofia Vergara is a lot better than Julie Bowen, and Ty wouldn't have been my pick in supporting actor either.

Ty Burrell definitely has the best character from Modern Family. I feel like Julie Bowen mainly won because of the married couple gimmick. :manson:

I think Gloria and Jay are the best by far. Claire and Phil aren't that believable to me although it might just be because I don't like Claire at all.

If by wonderful you mean plastic with awful hair and a not very sensible choice of dress, then yes she does look wonderful.
