The show at the city's Parken Stadium, part of the band's sell-out 'Progress Live' European tour, is the only concert that Take That have axed during their 20-year career. The five members of the group said in a joint statement made shortly before the scheduled start of the gig: "We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight's show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonised over. "On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning. At 10am this morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show. Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4pm this afternoon. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform tonight. "The five of us then had a decision to make: should we go on with the show without Rob or should we cancel altogether? What would be fairer to our fans? What would people want? It was a very, very difficult decision. "In the end we felt that as this tour is about the five of us being back together, and about celebrating that reunion, it would be wrong to go ahead with the show. We also knew that no matter how hard we and our team worked, in the short time we had to make the neccessary changes to this hugely complicated and technical production, the show could never be what we wanted it to be, and nor could it be what our fans expect and deserve from us. "We are now back at our hotel and still cannot believe what has happened. Rob is still very unwell, and we are all just focusing on getting him better so we can put on our show in Amsterdam this coming Monday." Take That are scheduled to play the Amsterdam Arena on Monday, before concluding the tour with three dates in Germany later in the month.
July 31, 201113 yr i still find it strange that they didnt reschedule the cancelled date. unless there are further plans afoot that we do not know about at the moment. then again 1 night is hardly going to be a problem especially if you look at gary working x factor in the day and touring in the evening.. i heard a rumour today that robbie will unveil his new single the first week in september
July 31, 201113 yr Author Im sure they will rescehedule, but maybe they are to tied up, time will though, if thats true then robbie must have a new album almost ready for release.

A show is NOT going to be re-scheduled for Denmark. If there is another tour (probably in about three years time at the earliest - and assuming that they do do another) Denmark will be on the list - but they're not going to get a replacement concert for the one they've missed. Its just tough luck. If it had been one of the others who was ill - even Gary - the show could have gone on and I think it would have - but Rob (especially given the solo set) was integral to this show - especially in Europe. At first I thought Mark, Howard, Jason and Gary could have gone ahead as a foursome on that night - but in hindsight - it would have been mightily embarrassing for them if they'd been booed off stage (which unfortunately - was a possibility). August 1, 201113 yr I am sure they won't reschedule if they haven't done till now, as it would be very expensive for them. They need to gather all the dancers and crew one more time, to ship the stage and all once again. I am sure a part of the stage /technics are borrowed and needed in other places. iT is not that simple with such a mamooth gig to schedule it later. If they didn't do it after Munich, there is no chance that they did this after a while.
