I have to say i would watch this this just to see who honest they would be about the break up. Not sure how the ultimate collection will sell as gold:the greatest hits sold very well for them and i dount they will add anything new.
I never got into Steps as a kid and the only thing I really remember about them is Claire's big cave mouth

That's just cruel :snif:

Personally Steps were one of my favourite bands as a kid (quelle surprise) and they touched my life in other ways too (my first boyfriend claimed to be H's ex and was distraught when they split up). So I'm looking forward to the show immensely. Might even try to get tickets for the charity gig.

Tweet for Claire:

'Ok guys, I'm happy to say it is no longer a Rumour!!! We are filming a doc for Sky Living. No other plans right now, each day as it comes xxx'

 . It's a longshot, but I really hope they do record a couple of new tracks for the Ultimate Collection.
I never loved them at the time, but got into them over the last few years, they had some brilliant songs and Claire is an amazing singer. 'Heartbeat' was my fave  Anyways I'll give the programme a watch, Hope they release a new track or two though!
I loved them when I was a kid, majorly so, but I can't listen to barely any of their music these days :( Dated so horribly. I'm still partial to a bit of B*Witched and S Club 7 though oddly.
These (along with S Club 7) are one of those late 90s bands I play RATHER OFTEN even now, so this news excites me. Not that I'll attend the gig, watch the documentary or purchase any new material they may or may not come up with.
I enjoyed Steps at the time but i agree their music hasnt aged very well, they did some great pop songs in their day, say youll be mine, better best forgotten ,stomp were probably mt faves, i did hate their dreadful cover of kylie's better the devil you know though.
The only excellent thing Steps ever did was 'Last Thing On My Mind' - pure pop perfection I thought that was. So many top 5 hits but so many bland songs at the same time; 'Here And Now', 'Words Are Not Enough', 'After The Love Has Gone', etc... sure I remember them, doesn't mean I actually liked them.

Words Are Not Enough was such a poor single to finish on.

The true gems in their back catalogue are It's The Way You Make Me Feel and Paradise Lost

How exciting! i loved them as a kid along with B*witched and S Club 7, they had a lot of fun songs.

Paradise Lost was truly the forgotten gem though

OMFG yes. Buzz was definitely their best album. Really liked Happy Go Lucky too

I have never heard of them.

Neither I have, but giving a try and find their music on YT.

It sounds a bit like 'Summer Of Love' played at the wrong speed (slowed down.)

I much preferred 'One For Sorrow' and 'Love's Got a Hold On My Heart'...
