August 2, 201113 yr I probably would have voted for Ed Sheeran had we voted now. He's infectious almost. And some really wonderful songs.Β Flo Rida has a fairly good position, I like a couple of his songs, but he's fairly boring otherwise.Β Never got Bono or U2 really. I haven't really heard of the other two.Β Jay Sean's songs are alright, I do tend to like him quite a lot, but he works best when he's paired with a random RnB female singer e.g Alesha Dixon on Every Little Part Of Me.

August 2, 201113 yr Author At 55, another new entry to the list....Β http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/yy90/Matthew_Bridgehouse/MarilynManson.jpg 55 Marilyn Manson (57pts) Β Stats Votes: 4 (GrAmii, Lukuzz, MarkIsABadKid, Nick F1) Highest Position: 4 (MarkIsABadKid) Top Ten Finishes:1 (MarkIsABadKid) LastFM Plays: 72,091,301 (as/with Marilyn Manson) 464,516 (with Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids) 72,552,817 (All Together) Karate Kicks: none BMAS History: XX-55Β Β Personal Opinion: Not my cup of teaΒ "Bio: Marilyn Manson (born as Brian Hugh Warner on January 5, 1969) is the lead singer of the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States-based shock rock group of the same name. Warner chose the name, a combination of Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson, to illustrate what he considered to be the extreme dualism of late 20th century American culture. The stage names of each band member were originally created by combining the first name of an iconic female sex symbol and the last name of an iconic mass murderer or serial killer, though this naming convention has not extended to new band members after the mid-90s. Along with Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper he is currently one of the main performers of the shock rock genre.Β Formed in 1989 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids, the bandβs uniquely theatrical performances gathered a local cult following that developed over time into a worldwide fanbase. By the late 1990s the band was considered one of modern musicβs most widely-known and controversial acts; this was due, in large part, to Mansonβs then-frequent clashes with religious and political groups. Mansonβs lyrics often receive criticism for their anti-religious sentiment and for references to sex, drugs, and violence (albeit typically in the abstract as opposed to any specific depiction). The bandβs music and performances have frequently been called offensive and obscene. Protests and petitions have sometimes led to the group being banned from performing. "Β Ypkv0HeUvTcΒ

Formed in 2009, elegant and enigmatic HURTS have their sharp suits, slick hair and stark visuals. Theo and Adam present a striking contrast to the glow-in-the-dark pop stars who have run amok across the charts of late. Looking like they would rather be on the cover of Vogue Hommes than NME or Smash Hits, the pair resemble Tears for Fears as shot by Anton Corbijn. Hurts have recently released their first single βBetter Than Loveβ and toured the UK and Europe during the summer of 2010. Β Before HURTS, singer Theo and synthesiser Adam were in bands Bureau and Daggers, the latter of which supported Gary Numan. However, on a trip to Italy, they discovered βdisco-lentoβ (slow disco) and became fixed on a more austere, and stylish, European aesthetic and Hurts was born.Β Musically, they construct melancholic 1980s-inspired electro-pop with songs that they say are inspired by the British mentality of being βnot too badβ.Β βHow are you doing? Not too bad. For a while you think thatβs not very interesting,β Theo once said. βBut it can be very interesting because itβs on a knife-edge of hope and despair.βΒ "Β 1TB1x67Do5UΒ

His father is of italian descent and his mother Glaswegian, although his fatherβs family have been in Scotland for four generations. His influences include David Bowie, Damien Rice, Oasis, The Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac.Β Nutini had no formal music training, and was expecting to follow his father into the family fish and chip shop business. He was first encouraged to sing by his music-loving grandfather and a teacher at his school who recognized his talent. He left school to work as a roadie and to sell t-shirts for Speedway and spent three years learning the music business, performing live, alone and with a band, and working as a studio hand at Glasgowβs Park Lane Studio.Β His big chance came when he attended a concert for David Sneddonβs return to his home town of Paisley at the beginning of 2003. Sneddon was delayed, and as the winner of an impromptu pop quiz, Nutini was given the chance to perform a couple of songs on stage during the wait. The favorable reaction of the crowd impressed another member of the audience, who offered to become his manager.Β A Daily Record journalist, John Dingwall, saw him performing at the Queen Margaret Union, and invited him to appear live on Radio Scotland. Still only 17, he moved to London, and performed regularly at the Bedford pub in Balham whilst still legally too young to drink alcohol himself. Other radio and live appearances followed, including two live acoustic spots on Radio London, The Hard Rock Cafe, and support slots for Amy Winehouse and KT Tunstall. "Β hmbUNF1Q4R8Β Β

August 2, 201113 yr Erm Leonardo I don't want to take away from the brilliant work you're doing for this but why do you have your most played songs from July 2010? ;)Β As for Paolo Nutini, 'Last request' was one of the best things from summer 2006 but anything that Radio 1 playlisted after that (second or third album? His music was a blend of garage MCing, conventional rap, grime and ragga, with some more eclectic samples.Β Dizzee began MCing on pirate radio and at raves at fifteen, but since his mainstream success he has distanced himself from the fledgling scene. Rascal grew up in the East End of London in south Bow in a council estate, raised by his single mother, a Ghanaian immigrant. Little is known about his father, though it is thought that he died when Mills was two. He attributes his musical development to a school teacher who allowed him to skip regular classes and spend time working on music on the school computers.Β His music is an eclectic mixture of garage and hip-hop beats with an extremely broad palette of influences, ranging from metal guitars to found sounds, drill and bass synth lines, eclectic samples and even Japanese court music. His vocal performance is also distinctive, he uses a fast version of rapping (known as βspittingβ) which blends elements from garage MCing, conventional rap, grime and ragga.Β Dizzee Rascal has numerous rivals within the Grime scene, mainly from the Bow, East London area. A notable rival of Dizzee Rascal is Crazy Titch who produced and recorded a diss called βJust An Arseholeβ which used the backing track of Dizzeeβs record of βJus A Rascalβ. "Β Ci40ae8BlcEΒ
