"Bio: Damon Albarn, a vocalist / keyboardist from the UK, is best known as the lead singer of the band Blur. He, along with Tank Girl creator Jamie Hewlett, formed the virtual band Gorillaz, as part of which he is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

One of his most recent projects is the supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen, where he plays the keyboard and sings. Other members of the band are Paul Simonon (bass, The Clash), Simon Tong (guitar, The Verve) and Tony Allen (drums, percussion). Personal Opinion: Of course a classic, never been my cup of tea, but you can't say he isn't a legend.

"Bio: Johnny Cash, born J. R. Cash, (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was a Grammy Award-winning American country singer. Cash is widely considered to be one of the most influential American musicians of the 20th century.

Cash was known for his deep, distinctive voice, the boom-chick-a-boom or “freight train” sound of his Tennessee Two backing band, his demeanor, and his dark clothing, which earned him the nickname “The Man in Black”. He traditionally started his concerts with the introduction “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.”

Much of Cash’s music, especially that of his later career, echoed themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption. His signature songs include “I Walk The Line”, “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring Of Fire”, “That Old Wheel” (a duet with Hank Williams Jr.), “Cocaine Blues”, and “Man In Black”. He also recorded several humorous songs, such as “One Piece At A Time”, “The One On The Right Is On The Left”, “Dirty Old Egg-Sucking Dog” and “A Boy Named Sue”; rock-and-roll numbers such as “Get Rhythm”; and various railroad songs, such as “Rock Island Line” and “Orange Blossom Special”.

He sold over 90 million albums in his nearly fifty-year career and came to occupy a “commanding position in music history”.

Early life

Johnny Cash was born J. R. Cash in Kingsland, Arkansas, United States, to Ray and Carrie Cash, and raised in Dyess, Arkansas. He was reportedly given the name “J. R.” because his parents could not agree on a name, only on initials. Giving children initials-only names, or a first name and middle initial only, was a common practice at the time. "

Personal Opinion: As you might have guessed I do love this man, apart from delivering one of the best songs of all time in the form of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", I think he has one of the best male voices I have ever heard.

"Bio: Marvin Pentz Gay, Jr. (born April 2, 1939 in Washington, D.C.; died April 1, 1984 in Los Angeles, California), was a Grammy award winning R&B, soul and doo-wop singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known as The Prince of Soul. Originally a member of the doo-wop group The Moonglows, he pursued a solo career after the group disbanded and released many successful solo hits including How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), Sexual Healing, I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Let’s Get It On.

He gained international fame during the 1960s and 1970s as an artist on the Motown label. His best records are still held in extremely high regard, and he is often cited as one of the finest singers of his era.

Gaye began his career in Motown in 1958, and soon became Motown’s top solo male artist. He scored numerous hits during the 1960s, among them “Stubborn Kind of Fellow”, “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)”, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”, and several hit duets with Tammi Terrell, including “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “You’re All I Need to Get By”, before moving on to his own form of musical self-expression.

Along with Stevie Wonder, Gaye is notable for fighting the hit-making—but creatively restrictive—Motown record-making process, in which performers and songwriters and record producers were generally kept in separate camps. Gaye forced Motown to release his 1971 album What’s Going On, which is today hailed as one of the best albums of all time. "

:kink:

Love Damon Albarn, especially Gorillaz. As in, pretty much everything he's done as Gorillaz, Plastic Beach and Demon Days in particular are amazing albums. Some of Blur's alright, but it's mostly an older lot of music for me.

I will loon.

Good top 30 though, although I can see a few that I expect to be dropping soon, and they aren't necessarily the ones I want.

The last 4 all do nothing for me personally.

Adam Lambert FTW! :D

Anymore? I'm dying to see where Adam came! :D
