When you look at which forum members are on site, why does someones name show as in italics with a dotted line underneath :thinking:

It means they are writing a post :D

I don't wish Joe ill, he seems nice and he can sing, but My take on all this is that when Joe was with Syco the album he released was of mostly original work and not all the covers his fans were expecting and they were delighted by it at the time, it didn't sell well and suddenly the album had the wrong sound even though many thought it was great at the time, but now Joe is shot of Cowell he still rush released an album of covers, :blink: one he recorded in just weeks at that, Cowell has nothing more to do with it, now it's down to Joe and his new label and it's not a great start IMO, yet his fans seem OK with it now, so it's like as long as he sells this time around it doesn't matter what the content...i don't get it.

All the years i've been on here and i never knew that. :blink: i did often wonder about the italics though. :P

I do agree Bev with what youve said, and no an album of covers isnt original, i just think Joe is a bit 'lost' and you know how artists of today have to stay on the conveyor belt or else they get forgotten, he needed just to stay in the public eye, i hope he gets to do another album and i hope that he is given the time to sort his own sound out and come up with something that works, hes just 20 bless him. and yes some of his fans should have said they like it or they dont, and not shy away after it didnt sell well, they do need to stick with him and thats what he needs. i do get a bit cheesed off with people that cant sing live and have to mime or use auto tune get so much praise, :unsure: I do think it matters to people what the content is, im not sure as i dont follow opera at all, but do they still write new operatic songs? or do the same songs get done time and time again? think the likes of Russel Watson, does some well known ones, barrys mum is a fan.

Nothing my thick skin couldn't cope with!I just don't do cliques and am certainly not a sheep :D I used to get dodgy PM's in the early days from people I didn't even know!

Ah,reading this thread I understand now why something was said to Gill about her sending Will's album back on devoted. :o I like Joe and he's just finding his way and I do think he's a very good young singer but he's not a patch on Will. Must admit I don't want to read about him all the time on Will boards particularly if the poster is obviously lukewarm, or worse, negative about Will.

 

That's something I've never understood about some fans on Devoted, old and new. People who are Will fans often get besotted by another artist and instead of going on their own fan sites it feels like people try to shove them down your throat, and then get all defensive if someone says something even half- off about them. Ho hum..

But that scary slide obviously doesn't concern Will Young by any means, as he smashed everyone else getting just under 3k messages and outposting the rest of the top-5 combined. Including him, the overall posts decline was 10.3%, but if we take out his forum from the stats we shall get a very disappointing 36% decline
