August 4, 201113 yr I saw that too Phil. I recall her saying not long after Pop Idol that she had been laying down promo tracks .... but nothing seems to have come of that. hope she does well I always felt she or Zoe should have been in the final but, as we know, that wasn't in Simon cowell's big plan was it  Edited August 4, 201113 yr by munchkin

August 4, 201113 yr Seems someone agrees - Tweeted not long after I posted ..... two minds with a single thought: 2 minutes ago I Am...LondonDiva LondonDiva I Am...LondonDiva Will Young is a great 'UK Reality TV to credible artist' example. Had Simon 'managed' his career it could have been a lot worse. Edited August 4, 201113 yr by munchkin
August 4, 201113 yr Author  how funny and ive just posted that tweet in Wills on twitter goes off to play 'twighlight zone' music :P
August 4, 201113 yr I saw that tweet too. I really liked Hayley - Simon Cowell was determined she was not going to be 'the one' wasn't he? Saw her in Thriller on stage and she was excellent, and she did a better Bleeding Love vocal than Leona IMO somewhere on youtube.

August 9, 201113 yr Author Hope it ok to have changed thread title had to post this http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/captain-greybear...-up-his-ha.html Captain Hamish hangs up his hat By John Honeywell on Aug 9, 11 10:30 AM in Cruise people ►JOINING P&O - for one cruise at least - is Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates. The singer, who was defeated by Will Young in the first series of the show in 2002, is performing on board Oceana during a three-night voyage from Southampton to Zeebrugge departing September 3. He said: ""I'm really excited about performing on board Oceana, I've never been on a cruise ship before but I've always wanted to and so this is going to be a fantastic experience for me." :heehee:
August 9, 201113 yr Guess they all have to go where the work is. Will joked about singing on Bournemouth pier. Thank goodness it has never come to that. You need to have a strong identity & back bone as well as a huge talent to survive in the fickle pop world.
August 10, 201113 yr I was just reading about Rydian from X factor..i don't know what year he was from though, anyway his first album sold over 404k, his second 93k and his new one out last week sold just under 3k  I don't think there have been any X factor acts, the winners or runners up who have outsold their debut to date are there?

None other than Will from any of the tv talent snows. Most have seen a massive slump in sales if they've even made it to the second album.

Crikey thats a turndown for him, he always looked a bit strange. The only act i can think of that might have done im not sure about JLS they do seem to be doing quite well, but with having huge promo from the show for weeks, its not suprising that this is happening, maybe fans buy the first as a memento of the show and they dont really buy into the act and thats as far as it goes for many, only leaving the hardcore fans to keep them bouyant. August 10, 201113 yr Thanks for the info about JLS's second album TT..aren't they now on their 3rd album now due out November? Yes they will release another single before the album in November. They seem to have had no break at all between albums, when they finish releasing singles from one album they then just move onto releasing them from the next.
August 11, 201113 yr Michael Jackson Tribute Line Up http://edition.cnn.com/2011/SHOWBIZ/Music/...n.tribute.acts/
August 12, 201113 yr Thanks TT..is the event something to do with Cowell? :P About JLS, I noticed with Olly and now Leona they seem to be going back to the two singles release before the album strategy that they had a few years ago. I see Cher Lloyd sold around 66k last week...there were flyers and posters galore for her all over the place, so it's fair to say the outlay far exceeded the returns, so far at least.
