The season premiere was a bit COLD but it certainly sets up the forthcoming season and ending well. Relationships and friendships falling apart under the pressure. I foresee a dark tone throughout.

Also there will be an inevitable HOUSEWIFE DEATH. Who does BJ believe it will be?

My money is on Lynette.

I would be most pleased if it was Lynette, but almost as pleased if it were Susan. I think the biggest shock would be if they killed off Gabby, which now that the show is ending would probably generate the most BUZZ.

No1 curr* about Bree anymore so I can't see it being her.

* except me

As for the rest of the first episode I thoroughly enjoyed it. As ever some scenes defied belief, I mean would Bree's cop boyfriend REALLY be so THICK? Doubtful. The letter opening was transparent as GLASS too, although I think it's a really great idea to link it back to its roots like that. We can only hope that they manage to play it as well as they with the S1 mystery, although I find that highly doubtful. It'll probably end up being Juanita or something for the LOLZ.

Could it be Paul? Whatever even happened to Paul last season? I've already FORGOT. Perhaps it's the FAIRVIEW STRANGLER.

Are you saying you want them to die because you don't like them? If anything a death would add poignancy to the character and they'd go down being loved. I say it's between Lynette and Susan for EMOTIONZ.

I care about Bree the least so if a housewive death is a must then please let it be her.

The cop really is thick and I don't like him at all. The note was a nice touch but given I didn't see the first three seasons I don't think I got it as much as long-term fans. Wasn't keen on Susan, pull yourself together woman, don't abandon your friends just because you're having to help cover up a murder. Gabby brought her humour as always.

I was hoping they would give Renee something more to do than look pretty and say funny things. Guess not. Still love her.

The person who sent the note would have had to have been around in S1 or S2 else how would they even know about the note, DUH
I'm slightly confused whilst trying to work out who sent the letter. I have no reason at the minute to believe Chuck knows, because if he did surely he'd have acted on it, being a cop and everything? None of the people who we know for certain know of the murder (Carlos, Bree, Gaby, Lynette, Susan) have any reason to send the note. Quite Pretty Little Liars esque right now.

Jesus, 'Desperate Housewives' is back to stunning form. I never thought this was going to happen. Some excellent writing and the whole season is being set up wonderfully very quickly. Susan/Carlos affair on the way methinks. The note is going to be a very interesting developing storyline too I should imagine. Eee.
I'm not sure I would say stunning form, the first few minutes with Bree had me turning away from the screen it was so bad. It did pick up after that though and yeah the Susan/Carlos affair is definitely on the cards and providing it's written well could be great. The thing that's annoyed me most about recent seasons is how they develop an idea, like Lynette and Tom fighting over who'll be the bad parent and then close it off in the same episode. They do it all the time and it's infuriating.
I like the mystery of this season because it ties in nicely to season 1, but I'm really tired of Tom and Lynette. Susan is still an idiot. And Gabbi, although my fav, should know better that Carlos will never be the same again...

I'm back on board! I thought I may as well see the last season since I used to love this show so much and the first episode was actually surprisingly strong. I howled with laughter at Susan's burial of the hamster. Less funny were here antics in the second episode. Bree still pisses me off with how morally lax she's become although I did love her role play anecdote with Orson 'pretending to be a stubborn stain'. I usually love Lynette but I can't get invested in the breakdown of the marriage having not seen season 7. Tom is a royal twat though. Gabby remains the greatest thing about this show.

Well I say stunning in comparison to where it's been at for the last few seasons. It actually has some life in it now and I really quite like the dark edge they seem to be crafting to it with the women for once not all getting along/keeping secrets from each other.

We get more Mary Alice flashbacks this season too. Ironically one of my favourite characters.

Mary Alice's narration has gone down the shitter recently, has Brenda Strong done something to her voice? It sounds so affected these days.

Every single sentence she narrates seems to start with 'Yes...'. Me and my old housemate always used to laugh about how the voiceover can be applied to any situation. 'YES. Jack and Tom did the shopping at TESCO that week.'

I hadn't noticed :o

To elaborate on what I was saying in regards to Mary Alice earlier:

Apparently we're going to get some interesting flashbacks, one focuses on the reality if Mary Alice hadn't died and then instead of the usual disaster episode at the end of the first half of the season we're going to have an episode which is based around Mary Alice talking to each of the four housewives and helping them out with a problem.

Sounds decent...

Oh I do hope it's another timeshift episode in that case, it's always funny seeing the botoxed up 2011 version dress up at 10+ year younger models *.*
