Apparently we're going to get some interesting flashbacks, one focuses on the reality if Mary Alice hadn't died...

Sounds quite similar to the If... episode from season 6. I did love that but I wouldn't want a retread.

I'm currently watching the first season all over again and it is quite literally UNBELIEVABLE. The writing is just so on POINT. None of the situations are laboured and they don't pre-empt every comic scene with plinky plonky music. The perfect black comedy-drama. Bree in particular might be one of the ultimate gay icons in television history at this stage.

So who does everyone think wrote the note?

My suspects are FELICIA, Orson, Zach, Andrew or Danielle (IT COULD HAPPEN!)

Now THAT was a fantastic episode! Brilliant humour which has been leaking of recent but some incredibly dark moments. The restaurant scene with Bree and Chuck was awfully horrible to watch, first time in a long, long time Desperate Housewives has scared me :D I am really feeling Bree again now! This is shaping up to be the best season since the fourth in my opinion, and it's a shame that so many viewers in America are missing it because of clashes with Football.

Clashes with football? Do you really think the two share an audience? I'd say there is more over-lap with 'The Good Wife', I wouldn't be surprised to see one inch up in the ratings when the other is a repeat and vice versa.

The latest ep was OK, Bree is fine right now, I enjoyed her stuff with Chuck & Gabby. The Carlos/Susan stuff is pretty good too, and should get even better with Mike now involved. Wasn't so keen on the mini stories with Lynette/her sister & Renee/Lee though.

It was a strange episode. Why did Gaby not have a story when Renee did? It feels like they need to just focus on the four women now that it's the final season rather than giving one episode story arcs to Lee, Renee, Lynette's sister etc although I didn't mind any of them in particular. Susan and Carlos' burgeoning friendship is the best thing about the show right now and was the highlight of that episode. Mike charging in like a pitbull wasn't altogether appreciated. 6/10.

Tom can do one as far as I'm concerned. He has become incredibly grating over the years although watching the early series back I think he was always as pig headed and selfish as he is today, especially where the kids are concerned.

The whole thing with Bree thinking Chuck was going to accuse her of the crime rather than the BLATANTLY OBVIOUS PROPOSAL was f***ING AWFUL. God it had me wanting to switch off, that's the main issue with DH now, there's no SUBTLTY, everything is laid on so thick is completely ruins any nuances there might be in the story. Not that there are any anymore of course because that would be too much like GOOD WRITING.

Elsewhere Lynette's sister was rubbish, Renee's storyline with Lee/child was rubbish, the only redeeming feature of the entire episode for me was a few of the Carlos/Susan/Mike scenes. NOT the one where Carlos littered to do community service though, that too was DIRE.

I'd rate it a 2/10 and one of the very worst episodes of DH I can remember.

I definitely agree on this, though I can understand keeping Renee in storyline rotation, since, well, it's Vanessa Williams. But Lee can do one.

Gaby's involvement in the restaurant scene was as cringe-worthily ridiculous as this show usually is, but then Chuck's menacing speech made up for that storyline. Although they better actually make something out of it and not just forget about him immediately. In other news, please give Gaby a proper plot - and not one with her children, thanks.

I actually thought this was a decent episode, especially compared to the car crash that was last week's one. I liked Renee's storyline with Lee, but its too late to develop her character so she's basically Wilhelmina part 2. Lynette, who friggin cares - too little too late to salvage her awful personality. I liked Susan and Carlos storyline, but Mike almost immediately assuming it was an afair is really stupid. I've always hated his sorry ass anyway. Bree and Chuck, so I guess he'll go all bad cop on them? Also, no Tom <3 Give Renee and Lee his airtime, so much better.

Watching through season 1 I think possibly the show's biggest mistake (besides killing Edie off) was getting rid of Rex. His relationship with Bree was probably the realest this show has ever portrayed and their storyline was the strongest of the first season. I'd have preferred them to go the distance over the course of eight seasons than Lynette and Tom, even if it would've meant we never got to see Bree with Orson who I was a big fan of.

It would also have meant no Bree and GEORGE *buys lifesize sex doll* *pushes shrink off bridge* AMAZING character.

Then again it would have meant no Bree and KARL, so perhaps it would have been a good thing.

Bree can never choose them. Orson wasn't great, Karl was awful, Keith wasn't great, not fully keen on Chuck though I think he is growing on me. Though Karl was needed just to give us some joy at the moment he got killed.

I don't want my TV to be serious all the time, but one of my problems with DH at the moment is how daft some of it seems. In the real world how could Gaby really spend all that time trying to get the package from Chuck's coat without him noticing.

OH MY GOD, this new episode is truly scraping the bottom of an already empty barrell. For the first time ever I'm considering not watching it's gotten so predictable/unfunny. The Susan/art teacher stuff is one of the worst things they've ever come up with. Don't even get me started on the uber predictable Gaby/PTA shit either.

OH MY GOD THIS IS SHIT

The writing is f***ing dire and predictable and the acting is nothing better, although they are given a load of crap to work with. How has this show fallen so much?

Spoiler about the fate of a character:

Chuck is killed in a hit and run with either Carlos or Bree at the wheel. Carlos tries to turn himself in for the Alejandro murder but ends up being arrested on suspicion of murdering Chuck.

OH that actually sounds GOOD. Watch it get bogged down with horrendous dialogue and wooden acting all round.

(Spoilers are in reference to a future episode).

Actually enjoyed the past couple of episodes. Last nights episode especially set it up very well for the final two of this year. Despite the Chuck storyline being pretty interesting I'm glad

the bast*rd is being killed off

.

I assume

it'll be Bree given the ending, and Carlos trying to get back on track

but I suppose the latter part of that could all change.
