I'm interested in hearing the album now if it has more great gems like this. Nice to see Nero's Promises finally make a move upwards. Great they could get a #1 single & album. Just heard Cheers (Drink To That) for the 1st time. I like the use of Avril's I'm With You (one of my favs of hers). Great chart as always!

Cos if it's the latter, I think I might hate him for being a douchebag. I hope it isn't.
August 23, 201113 yr Author 02 - I noticed! I think Katie Cole was a better choice though, Let Me Go has a good chorus, but the verses let it down quite a lot. 21 - I'll make a note of it and check it out! 55 - :cheer: I'm glad my chart is serving some sort of purpose then! :D 60 - Totally agree! 68 - Good! I'm not so keen on the remix that's been entered into BJSC, but I love the original version! 69 - Glad you're liking it! Many aren't thinking it'll qualify though, so I'm apprehensive. To my ears, apart from about 7 other songs, I didn't like anything much from SF1, so I'll be really gutted if I miss out tbh. 71 - I felt the same, it sounded a little dated :( 72 - Ice was nice ( :heehee: ), that and Saviour are the only two songs I've liked a lot from her! 2. I agree, Let Me Go could be truly amazing without those verses but they really are jarring, he can't sing! However, I still love it regardless  I'm not exactly confident in Sunrise's chances, it's already had one DNQ prediction (despite some surprisingly good odds), but I do much prefer it to Ria. That said, it's not a genre that usually excels in BJSC, the nearest song/mood comparison I can think of for the song is something like Natalie Imbruglia's Glorious, chirpy summery female guitar-pop. But it's always been a genre that I've loved anyway and I stuck to my guns of sending the song I love the most rather than the one I thought would do better! 21. Hopefully you'll like it although I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't! It won't be another #1 for him on my chart but it'll definitely go top 20! 55. Yes it is! I do try and listen to what I don't know in your top ten at least if I get a chance! 68. Yeah, me neither actually, I'll leave the original on my iTunes, that's the one I downloaded last week anyway... 69. It's really good! I don't understand that at all, I'd be surprised if it DNQ'd but maybe we don't have any objectivity over our own entries, ah well I've given you a big helping hand anyway :kink: I liked maybe 9 songs from Semi 1 but I still liked mine the most overall so I'd be gutted if it DNQ'd in place of some of the others. 72. Yeah, her album was really tediously boring and samey, she's very hit and miss. Hi Rich, 1. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (4) (CR-4-1) 5. Thanks West, I've pre-ordered his album but I seriously doubt that anything will come anywhere close to Titanium! Indeed! Promises has been clicking more with me since I bought the album and have thus acquired it in HQ, sometimes it takes me so long to get hold of songs in decent quality! Just like the UK chart they've had a #1 single and album in my chart this year too now! (albeit with Me & You, not Promises...) Surprised you hadn't heard Cheers yet! Indeed, it's a very bizarre choice of sample but it works strangely well!

It's just a name-check I think, the lyric is 'Young singer-writer like that Gabriella Cilmi', so he's just comparing himself to somebody in the same situation as him I think, the song was written in 2008 iirc so she was more relevant then, nice that he didn't swap her name for a more recent young singer/songwriter!

Oh good. When people start slagging each other off in songs it doesn't half get on my wick. Put me right off Nelly Furtado.
August 23, 201113 yr Author Oh good. When people start slagging each other off in songs it doesn't half get on my wick. Put me right off Nelly Furtado. With her Fergie diss? True, it was a bit unnecessary...Although I think she did it as 'revenge' because she thought that Fergalicious was a dig at Promiscuous. Even if that was the case Nelly should've risen above it.

I'm always open to new music :D 69 - Thanks in advance :kink: . I preferred my own entry the most in SF1 also, but I think that's a good thing that we both like our own entries the most - it shows we're fully behind them. I'm feeling exactly the same about Endless Storm as I did about Ane Brun though, so the outlook is bleak

What was your second choice in the month you sent B-A-B-E out of interest? :P 55. Likewise! I sometimes hear too much in a week though making charts a nightmare to compile! 69. Haha, don't be so pessimistic, I should hope that it's an easy qualifier, it doesn't sound anything like a DNQ to me. To be honest though, I almost always like my own entries the most, purely because I play and get into them so much! There are exceptions to the rule (Agnes Obel >>> Brittany McDonald, Frida Gold >>> Ria) but for the most part I do love my own entries the most!

The next best non-Eurovision song at the time was Unique's Semmi Nem Marad which would have DNQ'd for sure. At least B-A-B-E was a memorable flop  55 - Same, my chart for 31/07/11 was a nightmare to compile as I'd found so many brilliant new songs and was still loving the majority of the songs already charting! 69 - I'm exactly the same. The only 12 pointers I've preferred to my own entry are my first two editions of participating; Psycho over Soaring Through The Starlight and The Poet And The Pendulum over Manipulated. Radio Killer got my 12 the month I sent B-A-B-E but bizarrely, I do still have more of a softspot for Itsie Bitsie Boe :kink:

I realise that I only want to get rid of about 10 songs from my current chart but then have 30 odd to enter out of a selection of about 100! There isn't enough space! Maybe I should just reduce it back to a top 20 and leave everything else out :drama: 69. I'm glad Psycho was good for something  Sheelah's BJSC success is quite unprecedent - two of the biggest ever winners in relative and scoring terms. Can't wait to see what they come up with next, although I wish they'd get a move on - The Last Time was over 6 months ago, and that was about 9 months after Psycho!

Indeed and I doubt I'd even consider sending them a third time, I was pushing my luck with twice but I justified it because I genuinely DO prefer The Last Time to Psycho. The chances of them bettering this pair again are slim to non-existant.
