'Titanium' is indeed wub and if BJSC related tracks didn't qualify for my chart then this would've been straight in at #1 rather than a still impressive debut of #4. This is definitely one to watch - adore this song, his best single since 'When Love Takes Over' and that managed 4 weeks at no. 1 in my chart. Then again, in 2009 I wasn't influenced by BJSC.

Well, there is a big similarity between 'Heaven' and 'Unfinished Sympathy' so I guess you're right. I wonder if 'Heaven' will go on to the same type of "classic" status that Massive Attack's track has gained over the last 20 years.

01 (--) Lana Del Rey - Video Games (01) [1 wk] - Now that I think about it, it makes sense that you like this. It's a bit like Riverside. Personally, it's a bit slow for me, but I can see the appeal

 

I guess 'Video Games' is like the perfect sequel to 'Riverside' which I just absolutely adore and can't believe that track got me a debut victory in BJSC. :lol: Whether Lana Del Rey can end up holding onto the #1 spot for 4 weeks too is left to be seen. It's not slow, it's beautiful. There's a difference!!! :( :P

 

04 (--) David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium (04) [1 wk] - Absolute :wub:. It's been said many times, but this is something I never expected from Guetta.

 

'Titanium' is like my unofficial no. 1 (which may sound odd) but it's been prevented from a #1 debut thanks to three tracks I'm loving from BJSC which I've therefore listened to more often. I really see 'Titanium' hanging around for a while and maybe climbing to #1 but it really does depend. I'm hoping they go ahead and make a decent video for this song. Sia got to #1 in my chart last year with 'Clap Your Hands' and that song deserved to be a big UK hit but sadly its release vanished without trace. :drama:

 

10 (--) Human Life - Wherever We Are (10) [1 wk] - One of my favourites from the last BJSC, definitely a strong one.

 

'Wherever We Are' is a great track but for me I much prefer 'Watch The World Go By' hence why that track had the ability to enter my chart and defy all the odds and climb to #1 in my chart - probably one of those weeks in 2011 where nobody saw it coming (except me!!! :D ).

 

14 (--) Emeli Sandé - Heaven (14) [1 wk] - I nearly voted for this. It's so, anthemic, maybe, but the way the song builds up to that beautiful climax...

 

I do like 'Heaven' a lot but due to me entering quite a number of tracks - BJSC related, UK releases and European hits - 'Heaven' has ended up at #14 where I reckon in a quiet week this could have easily entered in my top 10. Therefore I'm not writing this off yet - a climb could well be on the cards next week.

 

18 (--) M83 - Midnight City (18) [1 wk] - Ha! It's a good discovery, I'd have never found it without all the drama over this, but it's not what I was expecting from the title

 

Well, it turns out the BJSC mods veto'd this track as it was seen as "too cheap" and already far too well known. So Mikey's had to settle for a less popular track instead. That said, Mikey could've just entered a song by another group altogether. :D

It's good but I don't think it's brilliant. Their most recent single did peak at #37 in my chart so they've improved on their previous chart peak. I just don't get that "brilliant!!!" feeling when I hear Monarchy's singles.

Well, there is a big similarity between 'Heaven' and 'Unfinished Sympathy' so I guess you're right. I wonder if 'Heaven' will go on to the same type of "classic" status that Massive Attack's track has gained over the last 20 years.

I reckon had they allowed you to enter this you would've had been guaranteed a top 10 finish in BJSC this time round. :o As it is, you've gone with one of their lesser songs (a bit like Medina, and Strange Talk :lol: ) so I can't say I think you'll get top 10 with your chosen track but only time will tell...

Don't worry about its #4 entry, I can see 'Titanium' sticking around for some time to come. I've already decided it's Guetta's best single since 'When Love Takes Over' overtaking 'Who's That Chick?' and 'Sexy Bitch'. Just incredible and it's all thanks to Euphoric atmosphere in the song and of course Sia's powerful voice. The chorus is musical magic. :wub:

I never thought this would ever happen but I actually think 'Moves Like Jagger' is possibly the best track Maroon 5 have ever released as a single. Even the addition of Christina doesn't bother me in the slightest.

 

09 (09) Sak Noel - Loca People (09-09) [2 wks] Nice to see that this has grown on you now, looks like it could be a big hit here!

 

It's the backing track especially the instrumental sections that really help me like this song more. I still think the use of "what the f***" cheapens the song overall but I've certainly heard worse dance tracks than this. I've also noticed its on the release schedule now and due for release at the end of September. Could Sak Noel be sitting pretty at #1 here in a few weeks time? :o

A bit like Nero going 06-15 when it could've had a second week in the top 10 quite easily. It's just I didn't want 'Loca People' to end having more weeks in my Pre-Release Chart compared to the main chart. :lol: Still, I reckon 'Heaven' will also stick around but who knows what order my new chart will be in (even I haven't thought that much about my next chart :lol: ).

14. 'Heaven' is definitely unique in its style. Sure it's not original but compared to the vast majority of what charts high in the UK it makes for a refreshing change.

 

18. I need to give all the SF1 tracks a proper listen. I had a quick listen (about 30 seconds) of each track last night to get a feel for the song but being on the verge of falling asleep I couldn't even start to judge each song.

5. I liked Maroon 5's early singles like 'Harder To Breathe' and 'This Love' but didn't care much for 'She Will Be Loved'. Then with their 2007 album I liked 'Makes Me Wonder' but that was about it. For me 'MLJ' is better than all the tracks I've mentioned - can't really describe what it is I like so much about it. It's uptempo, uplifting, doesn't grate and the video is at least an interesting watch. Oh no, on the contrary. A lot of Buzzjackers have said it'd be better without "Xtina wailing all over it" but that's what I meant by "doesn't bother me". She can wail all she wants - it's when the whole entire song consists of wailing that I start to get irritated. :P As it is, 'Stripped' would be one of, if not THE, album of 2003 for me. Such a solid gold pop album - just a shame her albums since have really paled in comparison.

 

9. I wonder if Radio 1 will get behind the song. They can't really ignore the fact it's become a big hit in other countries and I always think any song can be popular if it was promoted properly. There will always be a market for any song - it's just a shame in the UK we're limited to whatever the radio stations decide what the public want to listen to. As proved many times with the Radio 1 A-list, what they "think" the public want to hear doesn't quite match what the public really want to hear. This isn't a rant btw!!! :lol:

 

18. Well, I've still not given my new chart much more thought but I think it's safe to say this and 'Heaven' are looking set to at least be non movers depending on what's entering this weekend, and of course where other already charting songs climb/drop to.

A climb for 'Titanium' could well happen but it all depends on how the top 3 fare next week and if any new entries have the power to overtake David Guetta. It's certainly a strong top 15 at least for me this week hence the big drops for Beyonce and DJ Fresh in the top 10.
