Agnes Obel's Riverside pretty much swept the board in January.

Couldn't help but notice this. :D What is The Countdown out of interest?

Let's not waste this opportunity either to focus on some Ghosty lovin' tracks. :D

01 (02) I Am A Camera ~ Endless Storm ~ 2 [2-1]

I've been interested in seeing peoples predictions for this track qualifying for the final. Some think it will, some think it won't. Personally, I think you've got a good chance of making the final with this track.

03 (03) Cecilie Fleur ~ Alle De Lykkelige Kærester ~ 9 [7-5-1-1-1-1-1-3-3]

I wonder if 'Endless Storm' will on on to be as successful as Cecilie Fleur has done so far.

14 (15) Kati Wolf ~ What About My Dreams ~ 24 [16-7-4-3-3-2-1-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-3-5-6-6-5-9-9-14-15-14]

Still going strong? :D How many weeks did 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' spend in your top 10 last year in comparison?

21 (**) Loona ~ Vamos A La Playa ~ 1 [21]

Consdiering it's been a hit in a couple of European countries for a while, I'd never had the urge to YouTube this track. So I just watched the video you embedded and it's actually quite good in a Eurotastic cheesy way (which is what makes European summer hits so brilliant :D ). Back in the Autumn of 1998, I adored 'Bailando' by Loona even though that was a cover version, I preferred that version to the original.

26 (**) Breakage feat. Jess Mills ~ Fighting Fire ~ 1 [26]

This caught my attention purely for the name Jess Mills. Then I realised this was a track I charted earlier this year. Interesting to see this entering now for you. :D

42 (**) Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera ~ Moves Like Jagger ~ 1 [42]

It's official. This is my favourite Maroon 5 single - it's better than everything they've released prior to this. It dips slightly in my chart going 05-06 but I reckon this will stabilise for a few weeks. It's staying power on iTunes in incredible yet ironic that the two songs that outsold it last week are now being outsold by 'Moves Like Jagger'. Typical UK making such a non event of a song like 'Don't Go' by Wretch 32 a UK #1 single. :manson:

43 (43) David Guetta feat. Sia ~ Titanium ~ 2 [43-43]

This is glorious. :D Around this time last year I discovered 'Clap Your Hands' by Sia after it went top 10 in a couple of European countries. I loved the song and despite its UK release getting cancelled right at the last minute, it stormed to no. 1 in my chart. I never would've thought that 12 months later, Sia would be scoring herself a massive chart hit, but kudos to David Guetta who has created a cracking track in 'Titanium'. This more than makes up for that faux-American DIRGE called 'Little Bad Girl'. :D

Thanks Hits!

The Countdown is basically an international version of BJSC. Players represent their home country, I enter songs for the UK. There's around about 50 countries taking part from all corners of the world, so it's a great way of discovering new music from just about anywhere! Agnes Obel was sent by Denmark in January and deservedly won :D

01 - A day later, thankfully I did. I was getting nervous as more and more country's names were read out as qualifiers though! Especially when about 3 or 4 non-favourites from SF1 got through, I thought I had no chance :drama: .

03 - In terms of success on my chart, it probably won't, but fingers crossed it can do as well as Cecilie in the final!

14 - Good question! On inspection, Hera got 31 weeks in the top 10! I definitely prefer JNSQ to Kati's song though!

21 - I love it! When I get the chance, I'll delve into her back catalogue as apart from the DJ Sammy singles, I'm not familiar at all with her music!

26 - I randomly stumbled across it a couple of weeks back, for some reason it completely passed me by when it was released!

42 - It's my favourite Maroon 5 track by quite a way too! :D

43 - It's my favourite song of his other than the Kelly Rowland collabs!
