Mentioned this over the road, but can you remember the same happened with LIG and it was the second one they kept? :angry: I'm sure there weren't so many ratings as Echoes though.

There are 4 new entries above Echoes. Big sales for Ed Sheeran.

 

Ed Sheeran looks a certainty to top the UK artist albums chart this weekend after currently outselling his five nearest rivals combined, while One Direction’s introductory single will debut at number one on singles with one of the biggest first-week sales of the year.

 

Sheeran’s Asylum/Atlantic first album + sold 43,296 copies up until the end of business on Monday, according to the Official Charts Company, more than the totals so far this week of Virgin act Laura Marling’s third album A Creature I Don’t Know, which presently appears as a new entry at number two, Adele’s third-placed XL album 21, Example’s Ministry of Sound album Playing In The Shadows at four and new entries from Kooks and Dream Theater.

 

Marling’s newly-released album has a chance of eclipsing the number four chart peak of her previous release I Speak Because I Can, although there are currently only around 3,400 sales separating it in second place and fourth-placed Example who debuted at number one on the chart last Sunday. Fellow Virgin act Kooks’ own newly-released third album Junk Of The Heart is a further 2,800 sales behind in fifth place presently, while Roadrunner act Dream Theater’s new album A Dramatic Turn Of Events is showing up as a new entry at six.

 

Other acts set to debut with new albums on this coming Sunday’s chart will include Nuclear Blast’s Anthrax, Proper’s Nick Lowe, Decca’s Imelda May and Kingsway’s Worship Central.

 

The big news on singles is the debut single from Syco act and former X Factor finalists One Direction with What Makes You Beautiful having already sold 82,785 copies so far this week. Its accompanying track Na Na Na is registering on Tuesday’s sales flashes as a new entry in third place with the group’s two songs separated by A&M/Octone/Polydor’s Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera in second spot.

 

Having debuted at number one last Sunday, Mercury act Pixie Lott’s All About Tonight has suffered a 52% week-on-week drop in sales and is the week so far’s fourth top seller with Ministry of Sound act Example’s own former number one Stay Awake holding in fifth place.

 

Just a fortnight after The Death Of You And Me debuted at 15 on the chart, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are poised to score a second hit with the Sour Mash-issued AKA What A Life cropping up as a new entry at 17 in the midweeks. Ahead of the release next week of their new album, Columbia act Kasabian are new in the midweeks singles chart at 22 with Days Are Forgotten.

Looking at the new release schedule, there are LOADS of male artists bringing out albums over the coming weeks.

 

Fingers crossed Jealousy continues to float Echoes.

its very odd to have another Echoes with another release date, whats going on :wacko: yes i do hope they do keep all the reviews too Hope they dont do what Ros is saying that would be a shame, so if it happened with LIG why is it happening again i wonder what their reasoning is??? or just a similar cock up?

Thanks for that Gill, I can really see why Will is at 10 this week, with Adele still flying high and 4 new entries.

Im not suprised OD are racking up the sales tho, with them being so young and capturing the youngsters as fans. havent heard the track yet but will watch out for it next time i put the music channels on.

The 9 5* reviews on the second version are there but the 862 reviews have disappeared. Also noticed the album version of jealousy is no longer on the chart.

I've calculated that they added the sales from the previous album track to the radio edit so nothing lost/ :D

 

Pleased the radio edit is still climbing, being at 59p will certainly help. :D

erm how can they add the sales of the album track to the radio edit and still have the album track at 352 i know its the second add, but why not keep them both separate?
