re, Amy Whinehouse I don't support people as a rule, Darius is the only one I felt I wanted to have my money help, and even then I had to bite my tongue when I thought about the label getting too much of it..so I would never buy any of Amy's music, after all the money only (alledgedly) support her drugs and booze life style.

soon it will be time to do some gardening..its a bit cold at present, but if they ccould get the 3 degrees warmer here by this afternoon, instead of 2100ad I would go do some digging

I got a phone call from my daughter - could I get ready and go out with her in 10mins. It's the quickest shower/hairwash I've ever managed. It was a good evening though.

I wouldnt be able to go any where anyway, there is snow, only about 5 inches deep, but the road is covered..the schools are closed, so I have them at home, eldest went to Bournmouth yesterday and it is great down there, I have spent all day in and out walking in the snow with youngest.

We're expecting snow tomorrow. Maybe that will cheer me up. The snow gives a magic touch to the dullest urban landscape.

I hate driving on it but I do love walking on a virgin patch of crisp new snow.

We havent got or had any snow here in Devon It has been brilliant sunshine this afternoon.

Our snow didn't materialise and now they don't seem to be forecasting it any more but it's very very chilly. It certainly feels cold enough for snow and has done for a few days now.

I was watching an American news station and there was 6 FEET of snow in part of NY which I assume is New York. I wonder why that doesn't cause as much chaos as a few inches seem to do here.

Yesterday I ended up walking over the fields leaving wellie foot prints and dog prints in virgin snow. He seems to like snow but go off it when his feet get toocold.

We've had no snow.

NY gets snow every year so they are ready for it.

We just are hopeless here.

My friend lived in Connecticut and they had chains for their tyres.

Snow ploughs and sanding roads are a regular winter pass time

...as well as watching your neighbours nose

They have to listen to the radio daily re- schools and closure and are also told how long to stay out doors.

Same in Canada, I was amazed how organized they all are, and how clear the roads were kept. However there was a

bad snow storm over night and over two foot of snow fell, blocking the roads to Niagra falls!

The local trucks with the poughs were out early morning on call, and the men were out showing off with the snow blowers clearing the drives and pavements and helping other with their cars, one chap was out in his dressing gown pushing starting a neighbours car(-10c it was) there isnt that eagerness over here.

My nephew loves Canadian winters and he takes a holiday there at the beginning of February every year. This year they'd had a very very mild winter but last week in January that all changed in time for the winter festival.

Unless there's a dire emergency, I will never be in Canada in the winter months.

Our climate suits me just fine - hot, cold, rain, snow, gales - they are all bearable because I know it's never long until there's another change.
