I pay too much attention to slight sonic differences :(, plus Claire's notes are held better on the single version of Here And Now. The difference on You'll Be Sorry isn't as noticeable to me, only the start and the end are noticably different. I just feel it would have been nice for TUC to have been completely single versions.

Is it me or is there a slight difference between the Step One and single/Ultimate Collection versions of Better Best Forgotten? The album version seems a bit more tinny and subtle in the intro to me...

Yeah, Better Best Forgotten definitely had a slight makeover for it's single release. It's extremely subtle, but it improves the song greatly!

I agree, it genuinely turns it from album fodder to single material, it's strange how much such a slight production change can impact a song.

Whichever ends on 'Better Best...'' is the superior version. I know it seems to be somewhat unfavourably viewed by fans but its always been a Steps fave of mine.
Really? I can't say I'm a big fan of fade outs, but I like songs to have a suitable ending. The single version of BBF also has Lisa trying to amusingly adlib after the second chorus  .
Fade outs feel very old fashioned, which I guess fitted with their premise as the new ABBA (ABBA didn't half love a fad out of 75), but for me they only work on ballads. Even then a lot of ballads, especially big ballads, work much better ending on a huge money note.
How good would it be if Steps got a slot on X factor or strictly even. I hope they do a Children in need slot though. Could be great coverage to keep the album selling over the coming few months
I think When I Said Goodbye got a single remix too, though like BBF it was very subtle, i think the orchestral bits were more prominent on the single version. I much prefer the single version of Here and Now, its faster and a little edgier than the album version which i find to be a bit dull.
Good to see they are still doing promo, i would love them to do a prime time promo though such as x factor or strictly as that i think would really let people know they are back and let them know the album is out aswell, the album has already done better than i ever thought it would but im hoping it can hang around and eventually go platnum, all going well it should sell resaonably well during the christmas market, sales should starat increasing now in the next few weeks so hopefully they experience the increase.
I thought the Loose Women performance of 'Deeper Shade Of Blue' really bloody good. Totally having a nostalgia moment.
This era has been fantastically handled. Performing a different song every show for their Ultimate Collection is a brilliant idea. I'm starting to warm to DSoB since the reunion actually. I always thought it was overrated and bleh but I'm starting to listen to it quite a bit.

The performance of DSoB was really good - waaaaaay better then the ITWYMMF performance on This Morning. Perhaps the lack of Lisa on DSoB helped....! :P

Some points though:

1. H started his bit way too high

2. Claire has bad hair - she could look much better just having it darker and straight

3. Lee is fit

4. Claire looked like she surprised herself by singing well!

Performing different songs is a great idea and helps jog more memories etc, there live performances are quite impressive vocally, athough deeper shade of blue isnt one of my fave songs i still enjoyed it, i so so so so want to see better best forgotten performed as i love it.

This isn't hugely on topic but I didn't know where else to put it...

I was just listening to Middle Of Nowhere by Selena Gomez, and I just thought the chorus is SO Steps :o It's so weird
