Nostalgia. The Comic Relief parody of Popstars is still there. I'm crying with laughter watching it again.

Paul Adam(s) was played by Victor McGuire. Bet he didn't think then he'd end up in the West End sharing scenes in a top musical with one of the guys they were lampooning.

Those were the days when the sketches on Red Nose Day were well crafted comedy, beautifully observed with that gentle British irreverence which comprehensively makes the point without flagging it up with neon letters.

Lenny Henry's Jamal is great. Love the press conference - in PS Jessica admitted to smoking a joint. Toz is obviously Taz who was one of the closest to Darius on the show. Is the one with the baseball cap Kevin Simms? There's a girl who's a dead ringer for Jessica too.

The voiceover is absolutely spot on - it sounds exactly as I remember it.

I can hardly sit through an hour of CR nowadays. All the comedy seems so crude and puerile in comparison.

Hearing dive in again makes me realise what a great and under rated song it was that should have been a single.

Dive In should have been released as a double a-side with Mercury Rising as D's Summer 2003 single.

That would have been great. Then live performances around the country. I'd love people to hear 'Mercury Rising' live.
Why do you thinkk there hasnt been any gigs or any lined up this year. I realise he has said about performing new material but notice an advert on his my space for the Piecehall festival in august starring Simon webb, Big.broz. chesney hawkes, rowetta, antony cavana (finalist Grease) and they wouldnt all have new material either would they and there are plenty of B sides that people wouldnt have heard that would have gone down well and he would have fitted in well on that bill just to get him out there as it were.
He doesn't want to perform the old material on its own. He's not ready to showcase the new stuff. We'll just have to try and pretend we're patient
