Kellie Pickler and LeAnn Rimes DNQ'd? Damn, you guys have no taste :( That's like one of my favourite LeAnn songs too! And a Pickler highlight, right there :( Country

Yeah, Country is even less appreciated than Asian pop in BJSC

Although, I remember the Dixie Chicks won and Carrie Underwood did quite well once upon a time

Katherine McPhee also won.

Country did better in the singer/songwriter era of early BJSC.

Carrie Underwood >>>>>>>> Life

I did look at the history and saw Not Ready To Make Nice won and Before He Cheats came 4th/5th. Each artists' respective best, Before He Cheats especially is an actual life defining track for me

Which I'm trying to bring back with a vengeance I'll have you know! :P

Although I wouldn't call Katharine McPhee country, Dangerous certainly wasn't, it was R&B-lite iirc.

I don't remember anything about it. I just seem to think she's country

I challenge anybody not to be moved by this!

I sent Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland to a BJSC type mini spin off that we had in the Silk Bullet team forum last year

My favourite recent country song though is If I Die Young by The Band Perry - very sad and thought provoking but utterly gorgeous

I have both Katharine's albums, her debut is R&B and her 2nd is adult contemporary

Interestingly, Heart Like Mine by Miranda Lambert was my 2nd choice for when I sent Honey Trap, and it was on my list for when I sent Government Name (thank god I didn't send it over that and lost a top 10 ). It would've done even worse than Honey Trao :drama:

Oh I'm actually quite pleased with that, I was expecting to be right at the bottom so almost qualifying is quite good for the song I think.

Dandy , it was so so close!

How many points were both 15th placers off of qualifying?

In SF1 the gap was 5 points while in SF2 it came down to the number of 10 pointers.

I can't help but notice you have a bit of a thing for sad songs, If you don't mind me saying

Very close in SF2! Thanks for presenting the semi results btw :) Do you know when the Final Voting topic will open? :)

Sugarland  I have Stuck Like Glue and Tonight on my iPod.

Speaking of depressing songs, I dare anyone to watch this and not cry - or at the very least be incredibly moved:

Taking the words I wrote to you yesterday out of my pm :P

That is incredibly hard to hear, gutted for Dandy even more now! I can't believe that it took 61 points to qualify for Semi 1! That leads me to believe that everything was bunched up closely towards the top of that semi whilst Semi 2 had more clear leaders racking up big points and therefore reducing the threshold to qualify.

I don't mind, you're spot on! I guess I'm easily moved/touched by any sort of sentiment or emotion in music

Or This

We're discussing Dangerous by Kat McPhee? Have we mentioned how ridiculously AMAZING it is? Despite the fact that she doesn't even slightly contribute to her own chorus.

Sue me :smoke:

Then I'll put ft. Regina after my post.
