Originally shooting to fame via the Pop Idol TV show in 2002, Will Young has announced a new UK show at London's Palladium for December. This new show will follow his already confirmed Autumn UK tour.

Will recently unveiled a new track from his new LP. The powerfully pensive new single, ‘Happy Now’, is the second to be lifted from his fifth studio album ‘Echoes’, following on from lead single ‘Jealousy’.

 

Speaking to Digitial Spy about ‘Happy Now’, Young described the track as being about accepting yourself and embracing the different decisions and wisdom which comes with age.

 

He said: "It's about not hanging on to things that have happened, because I think if you do it shows in your demeanour. It's about releasing that and just feeling quite content being in my 30s and thinking, 'Actually, it's okay, I don't mind the wrinkles; I'll forgo the wrinkles for some wisdom!'"

 

The singer released his fourth studio album 'Echoes' on August 22nd

My choice..I just want a lover...Runaway..Hearts on Fire...i can't see either LNYM or Come on as singles...he's sung them already.

He did name Runaway as a fav of his though.

I'm having another listen in the context of a single as I can't think of any apart from Hearts On Fire. That has the umph factor for me for radio.

None of us rooting for Happy Now then. :lol:

I'm back! Had my listen trying to imagine them on the radio.

 

Still has to be Hearts on Fire for me, that's the only one that would demand attention in a similar way to Jealousy IMO and keep momentum.

 

For the third I could see Silent Valentine or possibly even Safe from Harm sounding good, they both build well.

 

Next ones would be Runaway, Losing Myself or Personal Thunder.

To be honest that would be one that I wouldn't expect to hear on the tour never mind the next single. Nice in the context of the album and he sings so well on it, but not single material at all for me. :blush:

 

You watch, he'll do something fantastic with it and I'll be eating my words. :lol:
