Posted September 4, 201113 yr I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this already. People are saying this film is going to be hugely influential. I must say despite it's slightly ludicrous concept it does look brilliant. vy2nAOdBUlw
September 4, 201113 yr I saw a Norwegian DVD (luckily it had English subs) of this a while back, really like this film... I think in doing it the way they have done really works in its favour.. The only thing that I was unsure about was the rather cheap way it ended after the "big battle" sequence... But, all in all, a very good film, which actually has a uniquely Norwegian cultural flavour to it, it's actually best watched *with* Norwegian people because you can miss a lot of culture-specific stuff and in-jokes...... I would advise to watch this before the inevitable American remake....
September 4, 201113 yr looks interesting. shit concept done brilliantly maybe? whats meant to be influential about it?
September 7, 201113 yr Can't wait to see this - looks fantastic.. Reminds of Shadow Of The Collossus on PS3
September 8, 201113 yr whats meant to be influential about it? Yeah? This just looks like a typical "found footage" film with a silly concept. Am I wrong?
September 9, 201113 yr Author To be honest I can't see why it's supposed to be influential either but then I haven't seen it yet. I have however read some reviews and seen quotes that suggest it 'will change everything' and inspire many similar films. I guess a film doesn't need to be original to be influential but I too have my doubts on this claim, particularly the more I learn of the film but we'll see. Found footage with a silly idea?? Maybe but it is supposed be be brilliantly executed and with a sharp line in very dry black humour. Most of the main cast are famous as comedians in Norway I believe.
September 9, 201113 yr Simon Bates was reviewing this this morning and couldn't speak highly enough of it. I think the most pertinent thing he said is that in a year or so's time - and American film company will come up with their version of it. It'll probably have better effects, better sound, better actors (debatable), will be in a language we speak ourselves ... BUT - you won't have half as much fun as watching this original. I can't wait to see it - the only problem being I know my son would adore this film but I daren't face the embarrassment of trying to get him into the cinema when he's not 15! Kath
September 10, 201113 yr I will give this a try as I quite enjoy found footage films and it looks pretty fun. I'm just imagining it as a cross between Cloverfield and Blair Witch, but that's just based on the trailer I've seen at the cinema.
