Posted September 5, 201113 yr So I've been through my personal Britney catalogue after my new found fever for this living legend. She has brilliant moments throughout her career, some universally acclaimed, others - eh - not so much, but here are my favourite 26 Britney moments on her albums: http://vancouver.virginradio.ca/Pics/AffinityClubs/129868/BritneySpears-Header-Blow.jpeg 26. And we start with the last track on the 'Britney' album. Yes, it features Britney's former superstar lover. It features Timberlake's beatboxing he made so famous through *NSYNC and later during his solo career, it's one of his earliest production pieces too. But he didn't produced - nor wrote - this track about being a Pop star alone, he shared its credits with choreographer Wade Robson. This track was, we came to know later, not the only thing they were sharing, but that is old news. 25. The Hook Up Before Rihanna filled the charts with her Bajan accent, Britney did it some years before in this one. And it couldn't be better! 24. Sexy, raunchy, sweaty. Britney pushes the envelope and targeted her sexuality once again on this one. And in a duet with Pharrell Williams. Suddenly Britney got nasty. 23. One of Britney's finest moments on record. It's polished, sleek and it brings up Britney licking a lollipop while driving a top-down Volkswagen Beatle in the summer to my mind. An instant favourite on the 'Femme Fatale' album, I can not get tired of it. The "ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh"'s are to die for. 22. The first single to directly address all the media frenzy around her. Released in the midst of the "Britney is becoming a sexual woman" part of her career, she brought everyone down to Earth again claiming that, after all, she was still a human being. Respect! 21. (I Got That) Boom Boom (feat. Ying Yang Twins) 1M8l4bu8snE Britney gets crunk! An immense party track with an infectious beat to shake your behind for almost 5 minutes. It's a Britney party, like she damn wants it to be.
September 6, 201113 yr Loves it! But "Boys" album version >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> that remix.
September 6, 201113 yr Great list so far! Britney is so underrated when it comes to the different sounds she has brought to the game, many of which are huge now and not at all in say, 2001 - 2004. With tracks on 'Britney' to 'In The Zone' she brought it a strong influence of sound from different cultures. I might have to copy you and do a list as well soon. lol.
September 6, 201113 yr I'm with you Tyler, I may showcase my favourite Britney singles. It may shock a few. ;)
September 7, 201113 yr Author Loves it! But "Boys" album version >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> that remix. Yes, that old debate! I do prefer the remix, it just adds more sexuality to it. Especially being a duet, it's like they're chasing each other's tails around. Great list so far! Britney is so underrated when it comes to the different sounds she has brought to the game, many of which are huge now and not at all in say, 2001 - 2004. With tracks on 'Britney' to 'In The Zone' she brought it a strong influence of sound from different cultures. I might have to copy you and do a list as well soon. lol. Very true! Loads of tracks would sound so current in today's charts! Such a shame she's such a laughed at popstar when she has monster Pop tracks behind her. By all means, I do want to see a Tyler list!
September 7, 201113 yr Author 20. I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) A true middle-finger to all the negative hype surrounding her in song-format. This one is a corker and I've never been ashamed to shout on top of my lungs in tune: "I'm just a crazy kinda girl, I'll tell it to the world!". 19. Lonely This one may come as a surprise as at first listen you might feel like skipping it, but those verses are way too reminiscent of Blackstreet's "Girlfriend/Boyfriend", which features Janet Jackson, to be left unnoticed. And I don't mean it in a "Britney ripped-off them!" kinda way, no. Britney drank that's song's mood and incorporated it into a full-on break-up song that worked as a premonition of the whole Federline issue. It kinda works as a prelude to "Criminal" when you think about it. But maybe I'm reading way too much into it. "Messed with Brit / Boy you must have tripped" is one of my favourite Britney lyrics, anyway! 18. The song that started Britney's track-revamping for single release trend (see Overprotected, Boys or Christina's Come On Over). And it's so much better than the album version! The Stop! Remix gave the track a bit more attitude, a bit of an edge and it's one of her signature songs. Not to mention it me and my classmates learned the choreography to this and showcased in front of the whole school back in the 5th grade! 17. He About to Lose Me One of the most experimental tracks she has released thus far. It's served as a ballad but you can still nod your head to the beat. The theme is reminiscent of The 411's "Dumb", but while the girlband were focused enough to be faithful, Britney bites her bottom-lip and steps on the line. 16. If U Seek Amy 0aEnnH6t8Ts Well, let's start with the obvious. The title is a great play on words. Releasing a song with this title to mainstream radio is genius. Having little kids spelling out "all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F-U-C-K me" is such a huge moral perversion it makes Madonna's "Erotica" era look like Sunday school. And then you have the backing track. Disguised as an electropop stomper, this track is more effective on the whole circus theme than "Circus" itself. If you listen carefully to those trumpets in the chorus, you can easily picture a funfair with Britney riding a poney in the Merry-go-round. And what a video that would be! Fortunatly the official video is just as good, with Britney dancing around with her Amy, and later serving the ultimate American Pie within the American Dream with a huge white housewife smile. Well done everyone!
September 7, 201113 yr Great list so far and you just made me realize how great ''Lonely'' is  And lol at Crazy choreography
September 7, 201113 yr The great thing about "Amy" is it's childhood innocence, I really do consider it "BOMT" part II/III (depending on everyones thoughts on "Stronger").
September 8, 201113 yr Author Great list so far and you just made me realize how great ''Lonely'' is  And lol at Crazy choreography  Ah, now it was worth it to post this thread! :D Oh, we also did Oops one year later... The great thing about "Amy" is it's childhood innocence, I really do consider it "BOMT" part II/III (depending on everyones thoughts on "Stronger"). I do believe If You Seek Amy works as a reboot to Baby One More Time, as I also think Stronger is the sequel to that. I'm not so sure if it is that innocent though. Amy feels more like a experienced lady cocktease song, whereas Baby is more virginal and has that Lolita element to it. Other than WILTBM, I LOVE everything else so far! You need to hear WILTBM again!
September 8, 201113 yr Author 15. As mentioned in previous comments, I do feel this is the sequel to her debut. Her loneliness ain't killing her no more, because you know, she's stronger. Britney delievers this one with the same quantity of attitude as she delivered Baby with innocence. She's basically saying "shut the f*** up, I'm not a baby and you can't touch this!". Not to mention this is pretty much the climax of that Max Martin sound. And she dances with a chair in the video. Fab! 14. Inside Out Britney takes dubstep and puts it in ballad form. Katy B, watch and learn. It's a song that pulls you up and pushes you down with such an elastic beat. And she manages to namedrop two of her first hit singles in the chorus! This is Britney taking one step further. 13. Not sure if I can add much to everything that has been said about this song. It is one of the defining moments of Pop history. Sure, the video helped the hype, but all of the video elements are in the song as well. The way Britney, as a 16 year-old, almost moans thoughout her cry for attention makes it such a sinful temptation it's no wonder all the parents (ahem, dads) were buying this record for their children. 12. Touch of My Hand It's heavy-breathed, it's sensual, it's steamy and hot. I only wish this would be sung by a hot hunk and had a steamy video to it. It's pure sex, audiosex, and it's Britney by herself. Plus, she's blatantly singing about touching herself, and not in the same way as the Divinyls did back in 1990, no. She's singing about touching herself with no one but herself on her mind. This is what makes it so hot. 11. Toxic LOZuxwVk7TU Another Britney classic. It set the charts alight back in 2004. And it's such a Pop landmark! It's that bass synth line! What's more left to say? Not to mention the last lines sound utterly incredible in my mother tongue, but that would only be fully appreciated by a fellow Portuguese. ^_^
September 8, 201113 yr INSIDE OUT AND TOUCH OF MY HAND. So glad to see those two on your list. They are flawless tracks and are just totally different and mind blowing good.
