Ronan Keating - Life Is A Rollercoaster.... again!!

Shame to see True Steppers out but not a surprise. As usual, people voting out based the ARTIST, rather than the song. Is it going to happen again with Ronan Keating? :D

Hardly! The song was only so big because it was played to absolute death on The Box (I feel like I say this so much for songs from this era that it loses its meaning, but Can't Fight The Moonlight was literally inescapably HUGE there, felt like it was played every half hour) so I can't see where the mum connection comes from. I'm sure it had minimal radio airplay until it was announced as the #1 and then it obviously took off a lot more from that (similar to other "surprise" #1s like Believe, Whole Again, etc.) - but either way I'm quite sure it wasn't mums buying it in their droves; it was quite clearly aimed at young people, and more specifically teenage girls who had watched Coyote Ugly (the movie it was in).

How do you know that ? Maybe people just dont like it. I voted for its becuase I think its a shite song. I couldnt give a f*** if victoria beckham sings on it or not lol

the only thing I would say about the victoria beckham song is that I like it, its on my ipod. but i do not see it was eliminated last round when it didnt fall into the bottom 2. is there an explanation for this or has it just gone as a convenience for the compiler?

Erm excuse me but no it has nothing to do with being a convenience to myself thank you very much. If you actually bothered to read the last thread you would hve read that the reason why I decided to eliminate 3 songs, was becuase I was away on Tuesday so I didnt get to start a new round. Maybe read threads before you start implying things.

i read that, but it doesnt make sense because had the round been done again how do u know that song would have been eliminated? i remember 'Survivor' by DC being close to going out numerous times but making it round after round...I just think its unfair on those who vote other songs because they actually like the beckham song

Well tough, thats the way it is. Its been done before and noone moaned about it. So I dont think its an issue now.

you changed the rules half way through a round. this is a good game, i used to do one myself years ago but I never changed the rules half way through a round.
