I am starting to worry, All Fired Up was at #02 this time and started off at #20. My Heart Takes Over is struggling to get top 20 now!

But weren't the pre-orders for AFU were listed as a single rather than a EP and thus that's why it got such a strong headstart? Because it never once showed up in the albums chart as a pre-order and we always wondered why that never happened. I think that's what someone said in the Chart forum anyhow.

I think this has followed a similar release day pattern to Notorious and Missing You, albeit a little slower a climb... plus with competition from previous weeks it was bound to be hard. Especially if One Direction have struggled to break into the top 10 all day, and only just made it in there now! Crossing everything it continues to climb and hopefully sneak in there anyway!

Exactly, this is doing just fine. If it doesn't get to the top10 it will be because of the strong competition.

This is a really disappointing start. Combined they're about #15, which will be a shock to them since they're so used to being Top 10.

But when you think about it..

  • They've done only one televised performance (Alan Carr)
  • It's only Top 30 on Video Airplay
  • Radio have neglected them; It's not even entered the Airplay Top 50

If things stay as they are, should they consider a price drop during the week perhaps? It's a tricky one. It's disappointing but the fact it's taken One Direction practically all day to get into the top 10 shows how hard a climb it's been for everyone today, plus airplay bar Radio 1 plugging it has been terrible so that won't have helped in getting the song noticed. Hopefully things might pick up tomorrow..

So gutted. :(

They've got Daybreak tomorrow morning - does that usually provide a decent boost?

Considering it's ratings are pretty low I doubt it :(

Those kind of promo slots like Daybreak, Lorraine, Alan Tichmarsh...don't usually have any effect on iTunes. I don't know in the long term, but we haven't seen any boost in the last single campaigns.

^ Bugger. :(

Not much else we can do then really, other than hope! Haha. :(

Just feels like the rest of this era is going to go horribly wrong now.

They just need a big promotion performance, let's just hope single #4 gets promotion on Dancing On Ice!

Do you have any idea what time they'll be on Daybreak at? I leave for school at 8.15 and I hope i don't miss it!

And anyway I don't know why all of you are freaking out! I knew this wouldn't go top 10, but it's not the end of the world!

New peak of #11 on Video Airplay. No sign of it in the Radio Airplay. Deary me!

There's no point in having a 'big promotion performance' if not even radios are reluctant to play your music, no matter where you perform.

I think they could get a performance slot on 'The Voice UK' when it launches next year! Also the winner gets offered a record deal with Universal and their label is a branch of Universal!

I'm not sure on a specific time, sorry! :/

They've got a much better chance if that's the case. The X Factor is just a breeding ground for Syco and X Factor related artists. It will be a refreshing change when 'The Voice' comes along. It's tireseome seeing the exact same artists perform every single year..

The voice will be excellent and I think will actually get around 9m+ viewers. I am being bias here but I have no idea why My Heart Takes Over is getting snubbed by the radio? it's amazing and perfect for this weather.

Because after Notorious radios just lost interest and they don't see what we see (the fans), they just see a single dropping the down the chart and brand them as a flop so why would they want to play their music when they can play more succesful music that is actually in the chart?

I am surprised stations like Heart etc are not all over My Heart Takes Over.

Just for possible comparison, different situations etc but Pixie was around #11 this time last week with 'What Do You Take Me For?' on iTunes and she only ended up officially charting at #10 tonight, so I'd say charting in the top 10 for the girls is near on impossible now, they're at #21 currently on iTunes.

Nevermind, least we have the tour to look forward to I guess. :)
