I think it's a strong ballad, certainly leaps and bounds better than 'Issues' at any rate!

 

 

I find it hard to compare MHTO and Issues (although I do prefer the former). Issues is so different, it's mellow and almost folk-y whereas My Heart Takes Over is beat-driven and power-pop-ish.

 

 

I agree with both of this actually, haha. I do prefer MHTO, but I think it's hard to compare the two. My Heart Takes Over is so cold and icy, emotional, sad while Issues is very warm, mellow. The lyrics aren't as sad. (I mean : slap you or kiss you, throw out your clothes, etc. it's all a bit very immature, while in MHTO, it's a very mature perception of the relationship), yet Issues has a more catchy and radio-friendly chorus... I don't know, both can't be compared.

I would definitely say MHTO is better, probably because it's leas dated than issues. Issues is so bland compared to MHTO.

Yeh... like I loved My Heart Takes Over anyway, but now because of this I love it even more, it's like the song which we had our first kiss to was in a club and Miracle by Cascada was playing and I used to love that song too but it's so old, but now I listen to it all the time again! Hahaha!
