74. Example - Midnight Run (NEW) (CR-74)

Its good to see so many Example songs on your chart... and also so many album tracks in general - my chart is overrun with album tracks at the moment. Looking at your chart also makes me want to seek out Dev's album [but I'm scared she will say Its the Cateracts in every song ;)]

Thanks Electro Boy, I really like Example's album, far more than the last one - a few more almost entered as well - I do like my chart to literally be my favourite 75 songs of the moment, and if that includes album tracks then so be it :D Dev's album has some real highlights, some filler too but the good songs are great.

:D

Thanks Regina! At least I charted Matt, more than most people I expect

True :( Poor Matt  At least he has one loon on BJ.

Hi Rich :D

1. Maroon 5 feat Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (1) (CR-64-52-50-62-OUT-60-14-3-3-1-1)

Did you ever think you'd be placing this at the top of your chart when it first charted at #64 all those weeks back? :D I think it's obvious Pixie Lott will be #1 this Sunday with Maroon 5 possibly holding at no. 2 for another week. It's just a shame that the UK fails where most other countries soar - the genuinely popular songs getting to no. 1 whilst those what I call "one week wonders" meaning all those one week wonders would instead have a #2 peak before dropping out never to be heard of again.

2. Will Young - Jealousy (4) (CR-30-27-40-40-30-22-5-4-2)

Wow, really pleasing to see Will continuing to climb. I think it shows just how much of an impact BJSC has had on my chart when this is stalling at #2 behind 'Video Games'. Yet in 2005/6 Will Young's three singles from 'Keep On' all made #1 in my chart and I genuinely think 'Jealousy' is better than all of them yet judging from his #2 peak for me, this doesn't appear to be the case. It anything, it proves that early 2006 was a really terrible period for decent new music.

4. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful (16) (CR-52-34-24-16-4)

This is why everyones adores GD. The ability to say "i really like this, even though i really shouldn't" so I will give you a :D for this. I'm almost convinced that this is going to rocket up iTunes next week and gain a monster lead over Maroon 5. If any song stands the chance of becoming the years fastest selling single (currently 'Grenade' by Bruno Mars) then this is that song. Then again, I predicted 'Swagger Jagger' would go to no. 1 selling well over 100k and it just about sold 66k so who knows. One Direction have a more dedicated fan base though. At least their debut single shows they have a personality compared to the blandfest that was 'Swear It Again' by Westlife. Even JLS's debut 'Beat Again' showed promise.

7. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (3) (CR-4-1-2-3-7)

Another song that if released at any other time of the year could well have taken my chart by strom and made #1. Ultimately, 'Titanium' has taken my chart by storn and made #3 (so far) due to the extremely strong top 3 I have at the moment. :D

8. Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You (5) (CR-67-OUT-8-2-2-4-5-3-1-5-4-5-8)

Whilst I do like this, 'The A Team' is the better song but even then I really thought this would've stuck around longer in the top 10 than it looks like it will. Plus I was in Tesco's earlier this afternoon and discovered their albums section (I'd never ventured to that part of Tesco's before on the second floor  ) and was AGOG to see The Beatles '1' is apparantly no. 1 this week in their chart? Example was #4 and Ed Sheeran was nowhere to be seen. Has his album been put back, I thought it was released this week?

21. HandS - No Romance (8) (CR-10-8-21)

Dropping already? :o Tirren will not be a happy lad when he sees this.

26. Sak Noel - Loca People (34) (CR-52-25-15-14-8-12-22-41-50-53-47-34-26)

Is Sak Noel about to embark on a sudden rebound back up your charts and eventually hit the #1 spot Stromae style (ie; finally hits no. 1 when it's your longest runner in the top 75? :D ). The song has become so strangely addictive. The censored version is almost like a parody of itself as it now sounds like ** with thick Spanish accent ** "when I came to Spain and I saw people partying I thought to myself...WATER!!!" which just doesn't seem right to me.

27. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight (38) (CR-32-29-29-26-20-24-40-38-27)

It was always going to be interesting to see who would win the 4th September chart battle. Pixie is the clear winner but it's obvious that next week Pixie, Saturdays and Leona will all start dropping down the chart rather quickly. Well, there's hardly anything of note released next week other than One Direction. Coldplay have a new single released but has anyone heard it? Maybe they're attemping the OA/OS thing again.

44. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (48) (CR-60-48-44)

It really is taking its time climbing up your chart. I look forward to seeing this #1 in the Good Delta Hit Parade in October 2012. :kink:

59. Velvet - Love Struck (NEW) (CR-59)

Did you discover this from Scandipop.co.uk? :heehee: I've been browsing a couple of music blogs for BJSC inspiration but so far found nothing worthy of note. :( I'm not even sure if I proposed choice for the next BJSC entry would be approved. :(

69. Matt Cardle - Run For Your Life (NEW) (CR-69)

Aah, interesting to see this enter. Hadn't thought about it until now but I wouldn't have thought you'd like this. I think some of the comments in the Pop forum are slightly unfair as I do like this myself. It's pretty much exactly the type of song I'd imagine Matt Cardle to record and the video isn't that bad. I still think my comment stands in that James Blunt wrote 'High'. Gary Barlow then took that song and rewrote it as 'Patience' as the two are similar (although 'Patience' is indeed an excellent pop song anyways). So I don't really see any harm in Gary Barlow writing another similar song and giving it to Matt. Perhaps the timing might be costly - it does sound like the type of song that would've done well in 2005/2006 but in 2011? I guess only time will tell.

Hello again Rich - it was only yesterday I commented on your last chart!

1. Maroon 5 feat Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (1) (CR-64-52-50-62-OUT-60-14-3-3-1-1)

2. Will Young - Jealousy (4) (CR-30-27-40-40-30-22-5-4-2)

3. Katie Cole - Sunrise (2) (CR-2-1-2-3)

4. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful (16) (CR-52-34-24-16-4)

5. Tove Styrke - Call My Name (13) (CR-19-13-5)

Fantastic top five - nice to see 'Sunrise' lasting so well, I admire when people are totally in love with their own entries. And I'm besotted with Tove and 1D this week - the latter had been slipping down my chart as well!

24. Vanessa Amorosi - Amazing (27) (CR-27-24)

I wasn't particularly fond of her last album, and I was a bit surprised to see that she has quite a following on these forums! Is it a patch on 'Absolutely Everybody'? :kink:

30. David Guetta feat Jessie J - Repeat (24) (CR-24-30)

Dare I say that this is the best thing Jessie J has done?

36. Loreen - Sober (NEW) (CR-36)

Charting on the basis of the live perf/acoustic/clip I assume, since Tyron hasn't messaged me in a frenzy about the full version! It does sound world-beating though. Not sure it can beat 'My Heart Is Refusing Me', but then that's a challenger for my song of the year.

37. Nicola Roberts - Lucky Day (40) (CR-33-36-27-23-40-37)

Have you heard the mash-up with Snap!? Totally rejuvenated the song for me.

41. Melanie C - Burn (NEW) (CR-41)

So surprised by how good the album is! I've only listened once but I remember this being particularly good. 'Stupid Game' as well.

45. Delilah - Go (NEW) (CR-45)

Just heard this today - stunning. I loved her voice on 'Time' so I'm glad to see her own material is as good. Her EP is superb too.

47. Nicki Minaj feat Rihanna - Fly (60) (CR-19-OUT-60-47)

This is such a step-down from Super Bass for me. I'd have preferred Here I Am or Blazin anyway. But it has Rihanna so I suppose it'll sell!

65. Agnes - Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Re-entry) (CR-32-30-OUT-65)

Any sign of this yet?

67. Kyla La Grange - Heavy Stone (NEW) (CR-67)

This is gorgeous. Such a soft, folksy voice, I can't pinpoint who it reminds me of though :drama:

Excellent stuff as always! Loving all the new entries (except Matt Cardle, which I haven't listened to...).

Cheers Hits!

1. Nope, definitely didn't envisage it as a #1 in my chart but the same can be said for The A Team which debuted at #67, even lower before slowly climbing and eventually getting 7 weeks at #1! Oddly, it's usually the really slow burners that I come to appreciate more over time and end up doing best in my EOY chart! I had plenty to listen to in early 2006, naturally not the crap from the UK charts at the time - the likes of Carrie Underwood and The Veronicas were keeping me happy though!

2. Jealousy is really just quite brilliant, it keeps on growing still so was duly rewarded with a higher chart position once more :D Of his singles from Keep On I only really cared for Who Am I, which actually was my favourite single of his prior to Jealousy!

4. I know, I know, I'm surprised that they've made my top five too! But I don't snub great pop and this is forever in my head. I agree that it's a massive contender for fastest seller of the year, even 200k wouldn't surprise me :o I'll be buying it!

8. I agree that The A Team is better but I think this is the first song of his I ever heard (note the #67 entry from last year there  What is it with him and #67 debuts turning into huge #1's?) so it's nice to see it be a hit.

21. Yes, sadly whilst it's a really great pop song, it's not *quite* the life changing moment we were all led to believe from the hyperbole. Good while it lasted though!

26. Ha, I can see why you might think that, I hadn't noticed the parallels between this and Stromae. Inevitably Loca People will become my longest chart runner within a month or so but who knows how far it can rebound. It's included on a compilation I got today (from Sweden) called Absolute Music 67, so a version of it on CD and in a radio edit form where I previously only had an extended version, may help it out hugely! Of course being a Swedish album, censoring isn't required so all the full force of the swearing is felt

27. I did suspect that Pixie would win to be honest but none of the three contenders are life changing pop songs, I'd have far preferred to see Moves Like Jagger climb to #1...

44. Who knows! It's lasted longer than most BJSC entries too so I probably should have given you more than 4 points but it hadn't grown as much last week as now

59. Yes and know! I became aware of it via Scandipop but I do know and have charted many songs by Velvet before so would have heard of it anyway. She's a Melodifestivalen veteran!

69. Well it's a bit of a grower and nice enough. I don't see it being a huge hit but it could be a one week #1 for him I suppose...it's as good as a Take That album track I suppose (not Progress era obviously )

Thanks David!

I thought you'd approve of my top five, we seem to have been championing the same songs a lot recently! I must admit that even though a lot of people weren't taken by Sunrise, it's one of my personal favourite entries of 2011 so far (I prefer it to two of my three winners!) and I'm not tiring of it yet :D Haha, I thought I was the only one still interested in Vanessa! Nothing will ever match Absolutely Everybody but if I had to compare this to the sound of one of her past singles, it's closest to Perfect.

Yes, charting Loreen based on the acoustic which for whatever reason I hadn't listened to before this week, really does sound like the studio version will be great! I maintain that it sounds like a clubbed up version of something from Leona's Echo era though. Nope, not heard the Snap!/Nicola mash-up, will have a listen out for it! Agreed about Melanie C, I really enjoyed the album, some great melodies on it :D Go is indeed really good, the intro especially is fantastic! I never got into Super Bass as much as I probably should have, it didn't even go top 30 in my chart, I liked the verses but found the chorus far too generic for some reason. No sign of studio Agnes yet no, I'm just preparing myself for the inevitable ascent as soon as it appears :kink: Kyla's song is great indeed, I'll get back to you on who it reminds me of as I can't remember right now either!

Thanks Rob, shame to hear about your chart finishing :o

Well it was time to move on after 3 and a half years. It was taking up a lot of time I thought and had lots of Uni work so felt I'd stop. Do expect a end of year chart maybe but based more on what I like more in popularity and taste than chart statistics.

Well that's fair enough, as soon as I can get a full time job I'll probably shorten mine back to a top 20, it does take up a lot of time

52. David Guetta feat Avicii - Sunshine (49) (CR-49-52)

55. Laidback Luke vs. Example - Natural Disaster (NEW) (CR-55) - I've been having this going round my head. It just seems to be everywhere, although that's probably because one of my friends is a massive Example fan, and keeps playing it.

58. JoJo - Disaster (68) (CR-68-58)

59. Velvet - Love Struck (NEW) (CR-59) - I saw this on scandipop yesterday! :P It was great on one listen. First I've heard of Velvet, although she does seem to have an established history.

68. Alexandra Stan - Get Back (ASAP) (Re-entry) (CR-39-39-OUT-49-41-40-OUT-68)

69. Matt Cardle - Run For Your Life (NEW) (CR-69) - I've only listened to a small portion of this, it's not as great as I was expecting, seems like it's territory that's been gone over before.

Great chart! :D

Hey Rich ^_^ So many new albums :o I must give Lady A, Example Laura and Inna a spin!

71. Rizzle Kicks - When I Was A Youngster (NEW) (CR-71)

Brilliant as always

Will for #1 next week? :o

Don't be ashamed for your love of One Direction. I really like it too, generic and 'Loser Like Me' as it is...

Also great to see the 'Big 3' in the correct order. Collide is Leona's best since Forgive Me & Run to me. All About Tonight is by no means Pixie's best, but at least it's catchy! All Fired Up I heard on MTV Dance the other day and was convinced it was a random remix, the. I heard it on another channel, should be on a Clubland album or something. :(

Great chart as usual. Again, many I haven't heard. Best go and hear them... :D

1. Maroon 5 feat Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (1) (CR-64-52-50-62-OUT-60-14-3-3-1-1) Great number one

2. Will Young - Jealousy (4) (CR-30-27-40-40-30-22-5-4-2)

7. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (3) (CR-4-1-2-3-7)

10. Kelly Clarkson - Mr Know It All (10) (CR-10-10) Still haven't heard this - she's proven before she can make a good song. Would I like it?

14. Marina & The Diamonds - Radioactive (19) (CR-22-19-14)

15. Lady Gaga - Yoü and I (11) (CR-56-35-41-OUT-61-42-42-31-6-11-15)

17. Ed Sheeran - The A Team (12) (CR-67-40-29-28-23-19-8-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-7-7-12-17) Longest Runner

25. Leona Lewis & Avicii - Collide (18) (CR-7-6-6-10-14-14-18-25)

26. Sak Noel - Loca People (34) (CR-52-25-15-14-8-12-22-41-50-53-47-34-26)

27. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight (38) (CR-32-29-29-26-20-24-40-38-27)

44. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (48) (CR-60-48-44) From what I've heard it sounds boring, really hope Maroon 5 overtakes it in the Aussie charts soon

45. Delilah - Go (NEW) (CR-45)

63. Natalie Bassingthwaighte - All We Have (NEW) (CR-63) Haven't heard this, and I don't plan on doing so. Ever since she left Rouge Traders she's made rubbish songs. For example her duet with Shannon Noll 'Don't Give Up' is one of the worst covers ever :puke: Haven't heard that in years, give me Kate Bush any day

66. Bad Meets Evil feat Bruno Mars - Lighters (71) (CR-41-58-OUT-71-66)

69. Matt Cardle - Run For Your Life (NEW) (CR-69) I wasn't expecting a good comeback single but this is terrible - they couldn't make it sound any more XF if they tried (except this doesn't have a key change :P)

75. Wolfgang Gartner feat will.i.am - Forever (NEW) (CR-75) I still don't like this, worst thing Wolfgang Gartner and will.i.am have ever done :(
