September 14, 201113 yr Author i think you need to grow up. Your offensive answers here to me shows your age... What do you think you will achieve with that? That i will end posting here to please you? As long as i have people with whom i can really discuss also when we have other oppinion i will keep posting. As much as i like. Messages like yours make a disservice to Gary and Take That, did you know that? If you would have been so old as i am, you would have more understanding of the difference between ranting, slating and an oppinion and you wouldn't get to the throat of the people thinking in other way as you.

SO you know me personally now? And who started the personal argument? Was not you? In what way were your replays to mine the way forward? Sorry to ask, but which "users" (plural) do you mean? And which and in which way i insulted buzzjack users? Did i write "grow up", "deluded"? Should i search for the messages you wrote to Kath for example? Now, i won't, but you know what i mean. Very nice that you don't want to start an argument now, like i said, please ignore from now on my messages, as it won't be always your opinion.
September 14, 201113 yr :offtopic: i am not entering into an argument with someone like you. to reiterate i think you should grow up and stop insulting buzzjack users. its not the way forward. -_- Jay I honestly don't find that Iris's comments are insulting to BJ users. She's merely stating an opinion of Gary (his choices rather than he himself). If anything - its me who has possibly been more caustic about Gary Barlow than anyone else. Besides - if you'd known Iris from her first posts - you'll find that she has always been critical (in a common-sense sort of way) of Gary (Iris - I hope you don't mind me mentioning this). Iris has made no secret of the fact that she likes Mark's work and Take That's group work and not Gary's nor Robbie's solo work for that matter. On the solo front - I have to agree with her. When Take That are on form - I like Take That. I'm really glad that Mark's contributions can be heard - you can tell from the outset that songs like Up All Night (still one of my favourite TT songs) is by Mark's hand, as is HUAL and Shine. Of course he can write dreary songs too - like Julie - but Gary can match him in spades - I cite I'd Wait For Life as a prime example. I thought it was a bit weird of Take That to release this truly weak song as a single - to me it seemed like an ego trip for Gary. Anyway - I digress. I find it a bit silly to tell someone to 'grow up' just because they don't adore the same things as others. Kath

September 14, 201113 yr One thing i have always liked about this take that forum is the freedom of opinion, as i know kath as a poster better we have often said that while we are fans it doesnt mean we have like everything, agree with everything etc.... lets not all fall out here because at then end of the day its all abouyt opinion and there is no harm in having a debate about these opinions, none of us are right or wrong we just need to say our points, beliefs etc and back them up..... so lets all try to enjoy it and in some cases agree to disagree, i think myself and kath have had to do that on a few occasions but we still have the banter here on buzzjack.

It is quite easy to lost respect for someone. I also lost halfway for McCartney or for Bono. Still love their music, but some of their actions outside of that are just :puke2: . As well, i might respect someone (as i respected Gary for the matter till some of his recent actions adding with X-Factor the last drop) but not like their music for the toffee. As a child i loved Modern Talking, but now i am judging very hard some actions of Dieter Bohlen, inclusiv the manipulative Germany Idol.
September 22, 201113 yr Gary has written the new Westlife lead single, called Lighthouse. Released November 21. Produced by John Shanks, im a bit of the fence with this...Any views?
September 22, 201113 yr Author John Shanks was their producer also for the last album. As he was also for Boyzone. That is way i wanted TT to try with a new producer, as the last Boyzone album was a cheap copy of Beautiful World, nice but nothing sparky. I am also not keen on what John Shanks does for other artists like Bon Jovi. For the song i have to hear it first, but i suppose that Gary won't give them a bland song. They really need a good solid song if they want to stay in business. I still wish that Gary would choose more carefully the acts he is writing for. Edited September 22, 201113 yr by IrisAlbastru
September 22, 201113 yr I still wish that Gary would choose more carefully the acts he is writing for. I'm a firm believer in 'less is more'. A few great songs are far preferable to lots of 'so-so' songs. Prolific doesn't necessarily = good. Kath
September 22, 201113 yr Well the new westlife single is written by gary barlow so it will be interesting to see what its like. Im surprised by this though as i didnt think westlife would want a gary song considering in some ways they are in direct competition in the man band market. Now dont get me wrong, westlife in my opinion are not in the same league as Take That but im sure there is a quiet a fee people who would buy albums from both bands.
September 22, 201113 yr http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/2...-is-going-West/ WESTLIFE have joined forces with rival manband Take That for their new single. The Irish heart-throbs return with Lighthouse next month, a track penned especially for them by TT mainman turned X Factor judge Gary Barlow, 40. The lads hope the sweeping single can do for them what Gary’s songs did for Take That’s big comeback. Loifer Mark Feehily, 31, told me: “Lighthouse was written for us by Gary with John Shanks. “They wrote Patience for Take That so we’re confident we have a great team behind our new song.” Nicky Byrne, 32, explained: “Some people might think Gary would be seen as the competition but we don’t at all. It’s kind of cool he’s written for us.” Mark agreed: “I love the idea of Gary writing for us and throwing all the rules out the window.” Lighthouse is one of six new tracks the band have recorded for a fresh Greatest Hits album out November 21. Shane Filan, 32, said: “It’s been eight years since our last Greatest Hits and we have obviously had a lot of hits since.” Gary’s track was so good it ousted one of Mark’s own compositions as first single. Mark revealed: “One of the potential singles was my own song Beautiful World, which I wrote with John Shanks and an Irish girl called Ruth Anne-Cunningham. “It was literally up until a day ago that we were deciding between Lighthouse and Beautiful World for the first single but they went with Lighthouse in the end. “I wasn’t too gutted though. Once I write the song I’ve written it. You can’t get too attached and just have to hand it over and forget the fact you’ve written it.” Lighthouse is out November 14. And there was me thinking that they all wrote Patience! It is strange isn't it (or is it?) how Gary is increasingly being separated from the rest of Take That as a songwriter. Its like we all have to know who the 'genius' behind Take That is. Kath Edited September 22, 201113 yr by Sheila Blige
September 23, 201113 yr haha you just beat me to it! i was just about to post this link.. but yeah to be honest we know how Patience was written anyways, when Gary did that BBC Musicians interview (Its on Youtube) he said that they were sitting there and John Shanks was playing with chords before stumbling on the chords that are used at the start of Patience. Gary heard and immediatly took them forward and had the bridge, the chorus and the falsetto instantly. Then the song came together and Gary knew which direction the album was going to head toward. Ironically i find it hilarious that this track one of the Westlife guys wrote was called 'Beautiful World"  Quite sad really that they seem to almost want to carbon copy the Take That album having a track of the same title, Gary and John Shanks writing a track with Shanks obviously producing it and them even coming out saying they want to copy the success of Take That. Cant see it happening at all. Take That are on a completely different level to any boyband/band in the UK and even Europe in some cases. However I can see the single making top 10 but the Greatest Hits is out the same week as One Direction and then JLS the week after so thats killed their minimal chances of top spot quite definatively.

With regard to Patience - I've never believed it was anything other than a Gary Barlow written song (thankfully - one of his best). Mind you - I don't believe for a moment that Gary had anything to do with the equally brilliant Shine or my favourite song from The Circus - Up All Night. I think it is just a contract thing that they've agreed to put 'written by Take That' (as other bands have done from the start) to quash any impending squabbles over royalties. All four/five of them make up Take That (and as history has shown - only one of them could survive without the others) no single one should be singled out as their sole songwriter. September 23, 201113 yr Shine and Up All Night are both massively reminiscent of some of Mark Owen's solo stuff and I'd be incredibly surprised if he didn't do the lion's share of the writing for both - not to mention the fact that he sings lead on both of course!
September 23, 201113 yr yeah Mark wrote most of Shine but i've read a couple of extracts, one being from Gary's own autobiography that Gary himself wrote the music to Shine and kept playing Mark options to extend the song as they believed that it was too short. So yeah Mark wrote the majority of the lyrics but Gary did the music. Up All Night was written lyrically entirely by Mark with Gary, Jason and Howard having big roles in the music. That was said on GMTV when the woman asked Gary did he write the song about having hios new baby at the time and Gary said that it was very much all Mark.
September 24, 201113 yr Author Actually i remeber that Gary wrote in his autob. that Shine was Mark and Howard's song- that with the calling between Mark and Gary was on DVD about the longer version of the song on the tour (with adding the part of Mr. Blue). And in the GMTV interview Gary said that they should ask Mark about "Up all night", as he wrote the most of it . Edited September 24, 201113 yr by IrisAlbastru

Yup, for those taking the time to hear also Mark's solo music (i mean behind his voice if it is not your cup of tea, but the composition, the orchestration and the lyrics), it is after that very clear who is the main influence on which TT song, esp. on Beautiful world and Circus. A lot of songs are the direct follower of mark's solo songs. If we will once have someone with the songwriting talent of Mark, the voice of Gary and the entertainment value of RObbie, this person would be more famous as Michael Jackson for sure  .
October 1, 201113 yr Gary has written the new Westlife lead single, called Lighthouse. Released November 21. Produced by John Shanks, im a bit of the fence with this...Any views? Its actually written by Gary and John Shanks (Shanks is a writer as well as producer). I've just had a listen and you know what? It isn't too bad at all. It's 500% better than When We Were Young and a whole lot better than the song that Gary has written for Matt Cardle. In fact - Lighthouse would have been a much better song for Matt Cardle to launch his solo career than Run For Your Life. Kath
