Article in the metro about the magazine shoot.

Leona Lewis has taken a swipe at claims she is dull and insists she's not bothered.

‘I’ve read it, especially from one journalist who has never met me,’ she said, ‘but it doesn’t bother me. I’d rather be seen like that than a harsh, brash person. If my friends said that, then I’d have something to worry about.’

Lewis says she’s done a lot of growing up since she won The X Factor in 2006.

The singing star, 26, told Rollacoaster magazine: ‘I’ve grown as a performer, as a singer, everything. I was in that weird teenage-adult stage for a long time – making decisions that perhaps weren’t right – but I’ve realised in the last couple of years that I know myself so much more.’

As if to prove she is anything but boring, the Bleeding Love singer is also wading into the political row behind the riots, some of which erupted in her home neighbourhood of Hackney in east London.

‘You have to remember (Hackney) is a very poor area and they’re taking away funding for youth programmes,’ she said.

‘I just think (rioting) was some hood rats who jumped on the bandwagon to go a bit insane. There are some really lovely areas in Hackney.’

Read the full interview in the new issue of Rollacoaster magazine next week.
