Posted August 2, 200618 yr JUST when LINDSAY LOHAN thought things couldn’t get any worse, I’ve got more bad news for her. The party animal’s pop career is over in Britain because record company bosses got so sick of her lazy attitude that they gave her the bullet. Bigwigs at Island Records were furious after spending a fortune recording an album with her last year — only to find she couldn’t be bothered to promote it. This all comes on the back of top Hollywood movie mogul JAMES G ROBINSON giving the actress a final warning after she repeatedly failed to show up for filming. He accused her of being unprofessional for calling in sick on the set of new drama Georgia Rule — after she had been partying the night before. The Hollywood hellraiser’s career is now on the line as a result of her reputation. She doesn’t do herself any favours by hanging out with shy, retiring, stay-at-home types like KATE MOSS and PARIS HILTON. I saw Lindsay at first hand when we shared a hotel during Oscar week. I reckon she’d have given legendary boozer OLIVER REED a run for his money in his heyday. Sadly for Island Records in the UK, they had to learn the hard way. An industry source told me: “A single was a huge flop over here because Lindsay couldn’t be bothered to get off her bum and promote it. In the end they didn’t even bother releasing the album, called Speak, in Britain. “She didn’t bother to come over to the UK to do interviews or make TV appearances to help sell the album.Island have now decided not to do another one with her.” The single she did release was appropriately named Over, which is what will happen to Lindsay’s career if she doesn’t clean up her act soon. I’m not sure if she has really got the message though. Even after her movie boss hauled her over the coals I caught her hard at work the next day . . . surfing in Malibu with her boyfriend. August 2, 200618 yr It's sad really :( I have both her albums on import, the first one was good meanwhile the second was ok but less commercial. Confessions Of A Broken Heart would have been top ten if it was a single over here I think. Then again this is Victoria Newtface and The Sun so I won't TOTALLY believe it JUST YET :rolleyes:
August 2, 200618 yr the article is true in a sense. she does not promote over here! she could have success in the UK and "over" for SURE would have charted higher than 27. Its ONLY promotion seemed to be on the box music channle. She did zero promotion over here. Which is sad because her music is GOOD!

With promotions 'Rumors' and 'Over' would have done well, but she didnt promote so she learnt the hard way.
August 2, 200618 yr I HATE it when artists don't promote good music - a recent example is one of my favourite artists, Prince. 3121 was a real gem, but the only promotion I saw for it was the Brit Awards performance, and even that was vague! There was hardly any promotion for Black Sweat save video channels, and Fury received NO promotion at all! So, as a frustrated Prince fan, I totally know what Lindsay Lohan fans are going through.
August 2, 200618 yr allot of american female pop stars. the likes of ashlee simpson/Lindsay loan/Hillary duff etc. all of which I am fans of, don't really promote themselfs in the UK. Lohan being the worst to the fact where the general UK public don't realise she has even made music! It's just lazy. and she is denieing herself success and increasing her fanbase.
August 2, 200618 yr Hilary promoted Wake Up but she didnt really promote Beat of My Heart which is properly why it didnt get realised in the UK. Hilary was on Totp Reloaded with the FANTABLOUS Fearne Cotton :wub:
August 2, 200618 yr Wake Up was such a surprise hit in the UK! I was really happy for her. She should have saw that as an oppertunity to start taking her carreer in the UK seriously

So, as a frustrated Prince fan, I totally know what Lindsay Lohan fans are going through. maybe Prince falls into that category where he's been around for a long time but noone is gonna buy his records apart from the longtime fans, even if they give him all the awards on earth. like the latest record by the pet shop boys all these acts plummet down the charts once the longtimer have bought them. no one else is bothered.
