November 29, 201113 yr The irony there is that Hey Whatever was a cover by a band called Zephyr or something similar iirc  As for World Of Our Own, they got in right before Will Young, the week before in fact - I wish Shakira had moved forward a week :(
November 29, 201113 yr hey whadever was the start of westlife as a very uninspired, low quality and 'predictable period of westlife lasting to the end. Brian McFadden was the only real creative part of westlife, the only decent songwriter. When they lost him, they never got back in the same good formula. When Turnaround sold less then half of the previous albums. The record conpany went bannanas and the result was the laughable rat pack album they where forced to do and many years of cover singles as the orginal songs wasent good enough. Its a bit wierd that in the first years. They had stronger songs, more controll of their own career and they also wrote a bunch of songs on their own, (much thanks to Brian) As they got older and older, the less controll they got on their own and over the last years, its been very clear that they arent in charge of anything.. Its pathetic that after 14years in the business, they are more kind of Marionette dolls then they where 10 years ago. Its tragic, how things become and the sales over the last years is the result of that
November 29, 201113 yr LOOOL brian mcfadden was such a loss to them that they considered re recording his vocals on their old songs and will not invite him back to tour with them   Surely as you get older the more choice you have on the music you release. Its already been stated that LW and SC managed and chose all the singles and songs for the albums, Westlife just turned up and put their voices on the tracks without having much say. If anything the last 3 albums they have had alot more control and all 3 have bombed sales wise.
December 7, 201113 yr Author Yep, montage video expected next week. I'm pretty obsessed with 'Beautiful World' very happy it'll get a vid! They are also confirmed for the XF final. I hope they sing BW, but I imagine it'll be Flying Without Wings or You Raise Me Up.
December 7, 201113 yr if beautiful world would be released this sunday then deffo it wil be BW, not sure now. . .
December 8, 201113 yr It wont break the top 40, it will probably be lucky to break the top 75 actually. Agree with Electro Paradise, they are bound to perform an old track to promote the GH album, or possibly a medley (I think that could be more likely)
December 8, 201113 yr Author I'd actually be really happy if it were to break into the top 40 considering it will get no other promo and the lads are unlikely to mention it being out (i.e. Lighthouse) and it already has been cherry picked from the album a bit. A Medley wouldn't be a bad idea, they did it once before on a foreign X-Factor, possible Sweden? Also, if they tagged Beautiful World on the end it would be really good. Beautiful World on it's own would be the best option though. But I just don't see them doing it sadly. (Hopefully they prove me wrong)
December 8, 201113 yr Shane and the other guy will both flop as solo artists. They arent good enough to survive outside of Westlife in the charts. They'll probably pick up a couple of top 10s in Ireland, but in the UK they will be lucky to break top 30 Vocally they are, Shane and Mark have incredible voices. They're getting on a bit to be starting solo careers now though and I can't see where they fit in the current market. Are they even gonna have a crack at it? Nicky wants to be a presenter, says it all about his 'talent' really. That kid stole a living. At least Kian can sing a bit.

December 9, 201113 yr I think Shane has the personality for it more than Mark but Mark has more potential to sell based on an extraordinary performance. Anyway I can't see either bothering, they've got enough money and have had enough adulation. They sing all Westlife's songs between them so they've had the limelight, and they don't seem to have the kind of egos that need a solo career to satisfy them.
December 9, 201113 yr Author I'm 95% sure Shane will bring out a solo album, he keeps saying he would love to continue in the music industry and I think Mark will, when asked what he wants to do when Westlife's over, he seems to have a huge list, but singing is on there too. They've said they don't want to retire yet, they're only early 30's which is fair enough. I'm deff looking forwards to both albums if they happen. But Shane better stay a billion miles away from Louis if he does make one.

Shane will have a lasy cover album (wich will flop) .. and Mark I don't see hem recording an album, maybe writing for other people.
December 12, 201113 yr They have have started solo careers three years ago in hindsight. I reckon if they had burning ambitions to do that then they would have went solo earlier. We'll see...
December 13, 201113 yr if shane and mark are not good enough then no pop male singer is. . . Im not sure about that Mark guys voice, however i agree Shane has a nice tone to his voice....HOWEVER, as we all know on this forum just being able to sing doesn't sell records, you got to have charisma, stage presence, and good songs to sing. There's no question that in 2 or 3 years time Shane and Mark will always be referred to as 'Shane from Westlife' etc because they don't have the ability to stand out from the crowd in the UK music charts at the moment. Song wise, well Im pretty sure that they both won't stray too far from the Westlife territory, maybe more upbeat but fact is they cant compete with the rnb and urban/america edge the mainstream are buying now. Bottom line, in the UK they will probably both end up following the same chart history as Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud. In a 4 or 5 years they'll reform and try and do a Take That, no question of a doubt.
December 15, 201113 yr Author ZZN4FIsyHR0 Official Beautiful World Video. Edited December 15, 201113 yr by Electro Paradise
December 20, 201113 yr Westlife's ITV Special on Saturday had 1.65m viewers, the lowest Saturday evening (18:00-22:00) viewing figures on ITV for the entire year! Now that's what I call a flop!
