Someone on DS said this and I have looked on the BBC website and it's there:

Special guest singer Will Young takes to the ballroom stage to perform his new single, Come On, from his chart-topping album Echoes.

9th October!

Can't find this posted anywhere, sorry if it's old news, just come online and can't find it anywhere!

Thanks Ros. Great to learn he has a Strictly slot. :cheer: Wouldn't have been my choice but it seems popular. :D

When I did a count of all the comments about what should be the next single across the Facebook page and the OS, Come On was mentioned a lot more than any other track. After that it was IJWAL, then Runaway and Hearts of Fire tied.

Sounds like it has the broadest appeal.

And that guy from radio who told us first about Jealousy said it was the next single a few weeks ago didn't he?!

Wonder if the OS will confirm today?

Im the same Gill, I absolutely love the track, but i really didnt want him to release a cover, seems that DJ was right all along.

at least we wont be shocked! remembering Happiness  that was so funny. i love the track now but i was like WTF is he singing.

If this is the next single, wonder when it will be sent to radio & when the radio edit will be released.

Let's hope those dancers who graced the floor when he was on Strictly have gone into retirement.

Oh snap Ros

Oh brilliant for totting up Ros its nice to find out the most popular ones, those are my choices for singles :cheer: except i had Loosing Myself rather than Come on.

i did also think that we just might get Silent Valentine too, but we can never second guess

Wonder what we will actually get. Looking forward to hearing what they will be, more dangling the carrot i suppose

To me Silent Valentine is the album smasher and is the obvious third single, but this is Will so second guessing him is on the road to nowhere. :P

I'm sure Come On will do the Christmas sales justice and it did sound amazing on radio when Jo Wiley played it. :D

Just coming back to post the BBC Press office item on it here:

Strictly Come Dancing – Results

Sunday 9 October

7.30-8.00pm BBC ONE and BBC ONE HD

www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing Following last night's ballroom bonanza, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman reveal the first results of Strictly Come Dancing 2011. Which fleet-footed dancers will quickstep to the next round of the competition, and which couple will be the first to leave?

Special guest singer Will Young takes to the ballroom stage to perform his new single, Come On, from his chart-topping album Echoes.

Strictly Come Dancing is simulcast on the BBC One HD channel.

If this is the next single, wonder when it will be sent to radio & when the radio edit will be released.

 The ones dressed in the orange ensemble

I do dislike that they seem to show the dancers more than the Guest singer, i think its a bit Rude, (also dont like them rolling credits when someone is still singing)

Yeah I agree Bev, last week in Oct, first week in Nov, ... Hmmm second thoughts thats when the tour starts,

Thanks Ros for posting that too

OK EDIT, numpty the promo for the single will be done before release... wake up Pip   perfect timing

Pixie Lott released her single ( Still at #7 in todays mids) 2 weeks after Will and she is releasing her 2nd single on the 7th Nov.... 8/9 weeks between singles

Also james Morrison as only just released his single this week but his next one is out on 28th nov ...8/9 weeks between singles

If this is the second single & it's to be released some time in October is there time to release a third before Xmas?

The effect of an October release will surely have worn off to have any impact on those big album sales.

An October release seems a bit odd for the Xmas sales doesn't it? surely November some time would make more sense?

I'm really hoping this isn't promo for the second single just yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is a new strategy of performing a couple of different album tracks on high profile tv shows (HOF on Wossy) to keep the album alive until the second single kicks in much nearer Xmas.

It would make perfect sense to me, but then, what do I know.

I like this idea Sandra, :D Yes HOF was a planned slot clearly for album promo and this might be another as you say, i hope this is the case as it's really to early for another single in October IMO.

Thanks ros - I was just saying over on D that if it's true and he's singing it on the 9th October that would possibly give it a couple of weeks for airplay bringing it to the end of October beginning of November release to tie in with the tour. That would be about 8/9 weeks.

I pleased with that choice if it's true - it's a real earworm song and one that I can remember easily with a catchy repetitive chorus and farily short already for airplay.

That is the only performance of Wills ever that I hated, hated the song and the whole camp routine. Sorry ladies if you loved it but I literally shrank in my chair as I watched and don't even want to visit youtube 4 years later to see it again.
