September 23, 201113 yr That is the only performance of Wills ever that I hated, hated the song and the whole camp routine. Sorry ladies if you loved it but I literally shrank in my chair as I watched and don't even want to visit youtube 4 years later to see it again. Sorry about that - thought perhaps others might want to watch it again :D
September 23, 201113 yr Sorry about that - thought perhaps others might want to watch it again :D No need to apologise Avis we are all different. I'm sure lots of fans really enjoyed it.
September 23, 201113 yr Sorry about that - thought perhaps others might want to watch it again :D I'm sure they will, I'm sure some loved it, probably everyone loved it and it was just me that didn't, but I can't help , and I certainly wouldn't deny anyone the pleasre of seeing it again..

September 23, 201113 yr If this is the second single & it's to be released some time in October is there time to release a third before Xmas? The effect of an October release will surely have worn off to have any impact on those big album sales. I totally see where youre coming from Gill, I dont really chart-watch on the whole, only really for Will, but what percentage of people buy their xmas prezzies all at last minute, and if its just a taster singing Come on on Strictly, and maybe the promo might be a bit sporadic, as there arent the shows around like there used to be to promote, (ie, Will missed Graham Norton and Paul O'grady due to their shows finishing before promo started, I think if so it will keep the new single in peoples minds while Jealousy finishes its run, and will cover the whole xmas prezzy buying time  maybe its going to be slow burning promo and like you said about Pixie Sunday, then released say early Nov would that work? I do kind of think that Jealousy has raised the bar, its in its 5th week inside the top 10, if Come on were to do that surely it will fill the main weeks that everyone is present buying :D Thankyou for posting the link Avis :D Edited September 23, 201113 yr by phil3579
September 23, 201113 yr The best time for album sales starts about 3/4 weeks before xmas and then they build until they peak the week before xmas..so the single needs to reach its peak around the first week of Dec so would need to be sent to radio at the end of oct...so the strictly performance would be shown ages before its even been sent to radio. Performances of a song that is unknown by the public do not generate anywhere near the amount of sales that it would if the single was on high rotations at radio. So presumably they'll work back from the first week of December in their planning? I couldn't post but I've been musing over this during the afternoon and see everyone else has here and over the road too. It can't be a coincidence that the tour is finished by the end of November. He'll be freed up from the tour by that week in the run up to the big sales weeks, and will still have a clear week afterwards before the Palladium show for any rehearsing for that (taking it that the show will differ from the tour show fingers crossed). I get the feeling they are carefully choreographing everything for this, dare I say, ERA :heehee: I just can't work out how the Strictly performance fits in, unless an early showing of the single already aired on the special? I don't think Joe McElderry has released a single ( or video) at all has he? I get the impression he's just gone about singing various tracks off the album, scatter gun approach - if I sing plenty of the tracks people will be bound to like something - style. That's similar to Will singing various things off the Hits for different shows as opposed to a load of Hopes and Fears performances. Oh, and another thought, will they keep an eye on the Jealousy airplay leaving it to run its course and not release the next one until it fades, or choose a date that the second has to be released by and stick to it??! That's similar to Will singing various things off the Hits for different shows as opposed to a load of Hopes and Fears performances. I've thought this all along Ros. Will can't be sitting twiddling his thumbs after the tour till Xmas. This is why the Strictly performance doesn't make sense to me. Unless due to the tour this is the only date he could fit in a performance. Still Will & his team have been spot on with the promo this time so I'm sure it will all be carefully planned. Surely they must have some high profile performance lined up for the run up to Xmas.
September 23, 201113 yr I'm another who thinks everything has been planned carefully..i just can't see them doing things randomly now, the article from Billboard indicated that the JR performance was planned promo rather than a quick guest decision, so this is surely just as well timed? the performance may be as Sandra says just a good slot to keep the album ticking over for a while and makes great business sense, as for the gap between the tour and the Palladium, well that's ripe for some top promo slots isn't it? Day time is easily sorted i would of thought but what night time shows will still be around for him then?

Performances of a song that is unknown by the public do not generate anywhere near the amount of sales that it would if the single was on high rotations at radio. Thanks Sunday for the clarification  So the performance is roughly 3 weeks early, and also Jealousy is still in the top 10 at the mo, when the performance goes out on 9th Oct thats 2 weeks away maybe Jealousy will have done its job and be dropping down the chart, maybe Come on will get some performances before it goes to radio, i know it doesnt make sense, but im trying to fit everything in, in my mind, if Radio is the main key to success, then does a couple of early tv promos matter that much? I could see why any random performances of Jealousy (not the Will special) wouldnt be any point in doing as Echoes wasnt out, but it is now, and for whoever hears it can at least back track on itunes etc :D I saw you were writing a post earlier Ros, while i was also writing one, after i posted mine you had dissapeared and there was no sign of any post, been doing my nut a bit too Ros, I dont think its a coincidence either, i think the same that its all being carefully planned to perfection and with best possible timing, even if a couple of things seem a bit out of kilter, maybe he will be forced to do promo when there is an available slot for him, Seems the main key is sending the single to radio. I think they will release Come on on once Jealousy has finished its job or i suppose theres no point in releasing another until echoes sales begin to drop right off, who knows Echoes might not drop right off at all, but i suppose the singles have to come out at some point, and raise the sales again. Still Will & his team have been spot on with the promo this time so I'm sure it will all be carefully planned. Surely they must have some high profile performance lined up for the run up to Xmas. Totally agree Gill, yes i would have thought that once Come on has gone to Radio for it to be backed up with telly promo  Edited September 23, 201113 yr by phil3579

September 23, 201113 yr This comment was posted on Face book..OK, probably be wishful thinking, but suppose it was the next single after all this?  Well that makes more sense      :heehee: I think im going to resign myself to waiting till the next single is offically announced
September 24, 201113 yr The release date for Come On is 21st November (well Sunday 20th) Oh thank you, that's ages away. :D where did you get the information from please?
September 24, 201113 yr The release date for Come On is 21st November (well Sunday 20th) Thanks for info. Airplay should build & Will finishes the tour on the 26th so will be able to do tv promo. :D Edited September 24, 201113 yr by truly talented
September 24, 201113 yr Music Week Thank You :D Thanks for info. Airplay should build & Will finishes the tour on the 26th so will be able to do tv promo. Yes i agree Gill..really happy with the 21st as a date..it fits so well with the end of the tour for TV and the Palladium gig.

Sounds like good timing to me. Looking at the tour schedule he's in London Monday / Tuesday for Shepherds Bush Empire, and not at Southend till the Thursday for any day time promo he wants to do that week.
September 24, 201113 yr The release date for Come On is 21st November (well Sunday 20th) Thanks for taking time to come in and post that  Thats a much better date than we were thinking with Will being on Strictly singing Come on, on the 9th Oct.
