For me nowadays, it's the challenge of battling against OCC intransigence over sales info to track sales. Back in the 80's though, it was actually more about the music. :)

Well, I'm a chart geek since my early childhood, and I love British music, I genuinely think the Brits produce the best music out there. Add one with one and get... :)
I loved it up until around 2005 but I don't really bother looking now. It's the same names all the time and the only nice surprises are generated by stuff like the X-Factor.

100% agree :)

Same here, but I also followed the German charts and the US charts, but I don't do that too often because of lack of time :(

I love following the charts because there's so many good songs out there  I'm sure most of you don't agree with me, but I find the charts interesting and I love seeing good songs go to number one. Of course I can't like everything but moaning about songs and artists is half the fun
I don't follow the charts as much now as I'm not really into a lot of the current music around. The charts seem to be dominated either by american style urban music or x factor tripe. Every now and then something creative and interesting comes along such as Christina Perri Jar of hearts.
