Really pleased that you're enjoying Red Hot! :wub: Agreed about Pixie, I'm actually far more impressed with this than All About Tonight which I found a bit too throwaway to ever get a great peak in my chart, this will go higher, it helps that it sounds different to anything else around at the moment. I really like the new Sats song too, definitely been growing on me a lot and ready for a big climb! So wait, Kelly vs. RiRi vs. Sats? What about the new Cher Lloyd song? :o Don't worry, I didn't comment on any charts last week either because of the site being down and then me forgetting to do so! True Love has definitely grown on me since the first listen though :D

 

Not seen Cher's new video yet, I barely ever watch music videos, but I shall make an effort to do so this evening! I'd be surprised if it goes top ten for me though...oh dear, I thought you liked everything by Bruno! :o The general consensus for this song is that it isn't very good, I like it but probably not enough for it to be huge for me...

 

I can see your concerns about Nicola, and I sort of felt the same after hearing Lucky Daaayyyyyyyy but it's such a good pop album that I can overlook her strange vocals in parts.

7. I noticed that too, what a shame :( It would be annoying if radio didn't get on board with it after the rest of her success this year, I don't want her to fade away again either...

8. I don't see anything that special about Blue Jeans to be honest, but I've readded it to my playlist in the hope that it grows. I do love Video Games though and I'm excited that it looks to be a big UK hit!

13. I do like this a lot, the verses more than the chorus admittedly - it should squeeze into my top ten I guess. Is it me or is there a surprising lack of hype and buzz over Ceremonials? I don't even know why either, the first two singles are great - not like Duffy's Well Well Well disaster :(

17. I can see why it's annoying to some people because of her vocals but I LOVE both the music and lyrics so I can overlook that I guess...

32. It really is quite excellent, the title/hook is always in my head, definitely one of my favourites this month!

45. I did feel that way about their first two singles but I actually like this more than those, it's pretty similar to the ballads on Chasing Lights and Wordshaker production wise. I think they lack an identity in general though to be honest, surprised they're still so successful chart wise actually!

Well, it's Cher Lloyd vs. Kelly vs. Loreen vs. RiRi vs. The Sats for me this week. I don't think I've listened to anything but those 5 songs this week. (Well, until today/now as I'm listening the the BJSC final...) haha. But The Sats are serious contenders. I'm loving it more and more with each listen. Glad 'True Love' has grown on you. I'll be disappointed if I come any lower than Top 10, but one of the big pop songs has to crash and I get the feeling it'll be me for some reason... Hopefully wrong though and I end up winning (HA! - I obviously mean coming 2nd :drink:) I thought I liked everything by him too, but 'It Will Rain' is failing to ignite something inside of me :lol:

 

Funny that. It's 'Lucky Day' that has put me off downloading the album (even though it's the better song of the two singles, imo). So I may actually give it a listen considering you felt the same about LD...

Well, it's Cher Lloyd vs. Kelly vs. Loreen vs. RiRi vs. The Sats for me this week. I don't think I've listened to anything but those 5 songs this week. (Well, until today/now as I'm listening the the BJSC final...) haha. But The Sats are serious contenders. I'm loving it more and more with each listen. Glad 'True Love' has grown on you. I'll be disappointed if I come any lower than Top 10, but one of the big pop songs has to crash and I get the feeling it'll be me for some reason... Hopefully wrong though and I end up winning (HA! - I obviously mean coming 2nd :drink:) I thought I liked everything by him too, but 'It Will Rain' is failing to ignite something inside of me :lol:

 

Funny that. It's 'Lucky Day' that has put me off downloading the album (even though it's the better song of the two singles, imo). So I may actually give it a listen considering you felt the same about LD...

Surprised you've got into Sober THAT much, what did you think of My Heart Is Refusing Me? Hmm, it sounds like a certain top ten to me but I thought the same about the similar in sound Strawberry Shake and it's my only entry this year that missed the top ten :drama: Can sort of see the likes of Wanessa and Havana doing well too though if last month's top five is anything to go by...interestingly It Will Rain is growing on me! A rare (first ever) occasion where I like a Bruno single more than you :o

 

Ignore Lucky Day, I'm sure you'll find something that you like - there are definitely some grating vocal moments but some brilliant pop on there too which is too good to ignore...

It's great to see Iris finally get the peak position it deserved. I've always been surprised at late 90's pop/rock bands such as Matchbox 20 & The Goo Goo Dolls were unable to have proper hits in the UK. They were practically radio gods over here.

I will certainly check out Nicola's album. I've wanting to hear a new pop album for sometime now.

I'm Still Hot is a bit of a guilty pleasure. It has a great beat.

Thanks West, as always it was really down to lack of promotion for those acts in the UK, Iris never got played much here at any point when it came out. Rob Thomas became popular with Smooth I guess a few years later...

 

Nicola's album is pretty brilliant, definitely a high quality example of British pop.

 

Agreed about I'm Still Hot! :lol: It's not massively dissimilar to I Like That...

Really? :o I don't think it fits at all, nice enough production but it feels like a bit of a pointless inclusion - Disco, Blisters & A Comedown would have perhaps fit better! Yeah, I think the Lights album will be a one week wonder for me - I gave it another listen yesterday and once again nothing on it stuck whatsoever - it could just be me though, you might enjoy it! Brilliant isn't a term I'd use for it though, pedestrian, forgettable and boring are more apt :lol:
