I'm hoping this is a positive sign as I believe Magic were rather slower in playing Jealousy.

Cahill are a staple of the standard pop EP on iTunes, with their samey-yet-occasionally-brilliant remixes. They’ve turned their attention to Will Young‘s very good new single ‘Come On’, and though it’s essentially just the album cut with a fast club beat underneath it, it is oddly euphoric:

Will Young ‘Come On’ Live Acoustic and Cahill Club Mix

 

Will Young can almost do no wrong at this point as he gears up to release ‘Come On’ – the second single from his chart topping Echoes album. We’re talking about one of my favourite albums of 2011 here, y’guys.

 

This sensible and subtle dance pop direction the Pop Idol veteran’s nodding to is so on point, considering how it complements his vocal tones and back catalogue of adult contemporary smear. Every binge listen of Echoes I go through always end up with me falling madly obsessed with a different track. I’ve gone through the motions with the sly disco romper ‘I Just Want A Lover’ and nouveau 80′s ‘Good Things’ but I’ve yet to develop a similar connection with ‘Come On’.

 

‘Come On’ – written and originally released by Kish Mauve – was always the obvious second single from the get-go. It seems like a more realistic choice for mainstream radio, given the running pace that accelerates in the chorus and compelling vocal delivery. Here we’re about to see the track interpreted in two very different ways in a live acoustic performance and a hands-in-the-air club remix. Who said you can’t have it both ways?

Both versions have actually heightened my appreciation for the song. One for the Saturday night out and the other for the Sunday morning come down – Will Young has got chu covered.

Has anyone ever performed in the same year on Strictly AND X Factor. I thought you could have either the one or the other.

 

I do think Will deserves to perform Come On on the X Factor this year and gets a No.1 song with this song.

I can't believe we live in the UK music scene where The Wanted and JLS can churn out any old crap and get to No.1 whilst this song

can't do it.

 

I'll be mega mad if Will doesn't get to perform at the Brits this year, gets nominated and wins. He's had a great year with the better than expected

success of Jealousy and Echoes in terms of sales and airplay.

 

I like Come on alot. It was my instant fave song on the entire album when i heard it, it's for me ranked across one of the best things will has EVER

done from his career, and me liking everything since day one thats a big statement.

Hope Will performs at the Brits with Come on with a combination of the lights from the special and the dancers from Strictly and belts ''this is long overdue''

James Morrison's second single with JessieJ is also now on the music channels and his first single was out just a couple of weeks ago and Even sooner is first play of Matt Cardle's third single was on Thursday night on Indemand radio :o and he filmed the second video already. Panic stations ahoy.

I love your optimism and that you like Come On so much but I have no expectations of an XF performance still less the Brits. Totally agree with you about the dross that gets far too much promotion.
